Biden is 77 years old. If he wins he will be 81 when his term is over. He was rambling about how a black man invented the light bulb. And that it wasn't Edison.

When Biden speaks, he runs the risk of alienating people who would had voted for him IMO. It doesn't look good.

I accept that he's too old (he's also too conservative for my taste - but almost all Americans are, crucially including much of the electorate, so what can you do?). But they are _all_ pretty old, including Warren and Sanders (and obviously including Trump). I don't know why that is, but the US seems to be turning into a gerontocracy.

It is so weird how you guys act like he doesn’t have a giant lead in the polls.

Funny thing is he has a giant lead specifically due to his appeal to centrists. He gained supporters this way, he didn’t lose them.

Trump's reusing the "you have no choice" line from 2016. Only problem is his opponent is entirely different, he's got four years of record, and the electorate does not appear to agree with him.

Aren't people living older?

Not sure people are remaining healthy and mentally-functional in proportion to sheer longevity, though.

It seems more like there's a generation who don't want to let go of power and can't accept they are past their prime...or, alternatively, there's a 'missing generation' who, for whatever reason (and it's probably not one simple thing), haven't gotten into a position to step up to the plate.

Is Biden's physical brain healthy? I had forgotten that he's had brain surgery twice to repair aneurysms. The first debate should be quite telling, as long as the questions asked are not all softballs to Biden.

That's because he had the surgeries in 1988, and was cleared as fully healthy, since which he's served in Government for almost an additional 30 years. Just minor things to overlook.

Both Biden and Trump are showing the affects of age related decline. I think the main difference between them is not their brains, but Biden has a soul and Trump does not.

I just don't get this kind of stuff. He participated in 11 primary debates. What do you think is going to happen that hasn't happened?

The first debate moderator is Fox's own Chris Wallace, so no softballs to either, I hope.

Remember how he had a terrible time keeping a straight face the last time he interviewed Trump? So biased! I wouldn't be surprised if Trump tries to weasel out & look good doing it.

I think he’ll be fine in a debate and you’re right he did just fine in the primaries so why shouldn’t he now. But there are worries out there ((seeded by the Trump campaign no doubt) that Biden needs to dispel. He has to debate Trump and barring any kind of dumb gaffs will prove to the electorate that he’s the more sane and stable candidate. Given the chaos of this year I think people are desperate for that. But he has to debate Trump, if he doesn’t his campaign is over.

He’ll be fine. The Trump campaign went through and picked odd moments and are using it to generate this idea that Biden has dementia or something. We just saw in the primaries that he’s fine and to the best of my knowledge nothing has happened to him since then.

Yeah don't worry - when in a clown car of 10+ candidates on the debate stage, I'm sure his speaking time won't increase exponentially. Nothing to worry about....

Joe said he could hardly wait & I believe him. If anybody backs out, I figure it will be Trump.

You think increased speaking time benefits Trump more, or Biden more?

seriously, this is an answer that I want to hear, lol.

Biden also has the 8 years of inarguable success through the Obama years. Hillary was and has been fighting the 30+ years history of GOP gaslighting retard history.

So yeah, it is completely incomparable.

Watching Trump from week to week is like watching DIMM after DIMM slot being pulled out of HAL, until all that thing can do is chime "Daisy, Daisy," but obviously nothing in actual observable reality seems to bother you for some reason.

I believe him too. I don’t think Trump will back out either though. I can’t wait to watch them, I’d imagine this will be some of the highest rated viewership ever.

My prediction is that Trump will be nothing but attacks. Nothing of substance to show what he’ll do if elected to get the country back on track. It will just be whining about Mueller, trying to tie Biden to Antifa (and thus him being somehow responsible for the riots), about being unfairly treated by the media, blah blah blah.

I hope Biden doesn’t follow suit and reiterates his proposals to get the country back to normal instead of slinging mud. I doubt he would because that doesn’t seem to be style. And I hope he stays true to himself and maybe comes back towards the center. If he does all that the country is desperate for a return to normalcy so I think he’s got it in the bag.

Theres still a lot of time between now and Election Day though and it is 2020 so I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibilities that a meteor hits or something so who knows.

I think this has been said before but it needs to be said once more:
Donald cant debate. He doesn't know how and he wouldn't even if he did know how.
Donald talks shit. He's extremely good at it because that's all he's ever done.
Joe knows how to debate. He's good at it. It doesn't matter.
The average voter responds to emotion, not logic.
Joe is in real trouble if he faces off against Donald. When you go to a pissing contest you need the bigger bladder. Donald will look like a psychopath to the level-headed minority. He'll look like a fuckin god to the bat-shit majority.
The democrats should just run a constant stream of attack ads between now and voting day. Collect all the shit Donald has ever done or said and just display it. And don't bother responding to anything anyone in the GOP says. There's no point and no one is gonna care.

Donald cant debate.

This is true. Like I said, there won’t be anything constructive coming from his side just constant attacks. The problem is those attacks resonate with many Americans so Joe will need to defend against all whilst making his case on getting the country back on track. It’s sort of (heck not sort of, it is..) unfair to Joe because he’s expected to debate while Trump isn’t.
