I don't trust my mobo temps...

I'm at 1.8vcore atm and it shows loading at 50, but I had similar loading at low vcores. I also read an article that showed that the Abit boards tend to read high. I just in general don't trust the bios readings and I'd really like to know my actual temps. Anyone know a cheap way to get some halfway decent temps? The article reported discrepencies as large as 15C!

Also, noob question, how do I find nb/sb temps?

The only way to get true temps is to buy and accurate temp sensor and put it as close to the cpu as possible. Thats nearly impossible, so its nearly impossible to get accurate temps. The best thing to do is just get to know you mobo and what temps it normally runs at.

=/ I mean I'm sure I'm fine as the article mentions that abit actually tends to exaggerate the temperature while Asus tends to underestimate. But still...everytime I close my eyes I just picture my cpu begging for help and then blowing up. Okay not really but I'd really like to know

It's more just a principle thing. I mean I'm sure my temps are fine, I'd just like to know for the sake of knowing.

Nice clock bro.. but stop caring about temps. I had two of those NF7-S's read 15C different from one another.. basically you in game long enough you learn CPU temps don't mean shat. All that matters is prime stable. Especially with Athlon XP's who you can torture like an taliban terrorist to no ill effect.

Actually 50c running prime at 1.80volts isn't to bad.

True Abit's tend to read high.. I was 58 on water with 1.81 volts @2700 when someone asked me to check once...I ignored it.

As others say, mobo temps are not very accurate. Pay attention to the Change in temperature tho as that is pretty accurate. FOr instance, if your cpu goes from 30C idle to 60C load, you want to be very curious about the quality of your HeatSink. If it goes from 50C idle to 52C load, you pretty much have nothing to worry about.

yeah that's what I'm starting to learn. I reset the thing like 5 different times on 2 different NF7 boards and I was getting way different temps on the different boards heh. Now my temp swing is 12C or less, from 38C to 50 on load after like 5 hours.
