I don't understand why the psychic business is legal... it's a major scam...

She did some "readings" for several of the students in the class, and was remarkably dead on. It wasn't general crap like "There's someone dead...starts with an 'S'..." either, it was pretty specific ("you work at the student newspaper and are struggling with..." "you have a boyfriend in the south part of the state and are wondering if you should break up with him").

I also had the sister-in-law of my wife's sister (her husband's sister, who I had met once or twice) go to a hairdresser (IIRC) who claimed to have psychic powers. She went into great detail about how my mother (who had recently passed) was trying to get in touch with me. She had a lot of details of my life that neither could have known.

I don't necessarily believe in psychic powers but I don't entirely dismiss it either.

My friend's family knew some guy that was supposedly a psychic. He pulled some weird ass shit similar to the consultant that you saw. He told me to go to the other room, any room, write anything on a piece of paper, tear it up and come back to him. I came back and he told me exactly what i wrote. Then all of a sudden he knew all of this stuff that was going on in my life that only I knew.

I've never believed in psychics. I just find it strange that it is allowed. Now, people already said it's entertainment, and that people decide to pay for psychics because they are free to do so, but the difference is that they are paying for something they believe is true. The "entertainment" argument is just a bad legal loophole... I guarantee you that only a very small percentage of people go to a psychic just for entertainment...

What they tell you is occurring in a specific reality somewhere in the multiverse.

They just can't determine if it's this reality or an alternate reality.

The lotto numbers were 4 17 22 35 39 44 but, because you farted, a fly died, and a tsunami off Africa didn't form, which didnt cause a shift in wind patterns, which made different numbers come up.

See what happens when you fart? someone loses the lotto.

Interesting... I like your thinking.. If there is an infinite number of universes, or if our universe is infinite and uniformly filled with mass, then psychic's predictions will occur somewhere in the Universe or somewhere in another Universe, but then again, anything anyone predicts will come true as well, as long as the probability of it occurring is greater than 0.

I'm on my way to play those lotto numbers right now. Just in case.

The same could be said for various religions...so I think we should hold back on labeling it something that should be "illegal"...well unless we want to make changes with that whole "freedom of religion" deal we have going here.

What I don't understand is why you think it's strange that it's allowed. You haven't laid forth any logical reason for it to be disallowed.

Because it's a scam. People promising something in exchange for money. That "something" never arrives.

Religion wouldn't count since you don't really pay for it.
