To this day if I listen to some trance songs I swear I feel like I am rolling for just a second. Which is why I havent listened to that garbage since I was 17.

Music is powerful. But my guess is that this is BS.

At the time it was released, there was some wacky FUD about Journey's "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" having a "killer beat" that could cause heart attacks.

The news media has probably been gullible about youth culture since Roman times.

It's BS.. I have tried these things before.. They are repetitive/droning sounds that don't do much but annoy you. There are some quiet ambient-ish ones that might help you fall asleep if you need some noise, but that's about it.

Sensationalist bullshit story designed to cause parents to freak out, ironically causing the same effects in parents that they want to prevent in their kids.

wow, I read that whole thing & it wasn't until the last sentence that they finally said: "However, other researchers say the ‘high’ listeners claim to feel may actually be a placebo effect determined by the individual’s desire to feet it."

Yep. That.

It's amazing how strong the placebo effect can be sometimes. If you don't believe it, get a couple six packs of O'Doul's & some idiot who has gotten drunk on beer before (but wouldn't be able to tell that it's non-alcoholic beer.) Feed him O-Doul's all night long & before you know it, his speech will be slurred, etc. Quite funny actually.

have never tried this, but it sounds hilarious.
Question, if you have tried this, did you tell said person that it was non-alcoholic, and if so what was there reaction?

man, this must mean I'm an alcoholic...a few years back, I was visiting my dad in Fla, and one night we were watching a flick and drinking some Beck's that we had picked up at the store. 2-3 beers in, I start thinking something is up with the beer. Sure enough, it was non-alcoholic Becks. Package was nearly identical as the normal Becks, and bastards had placed it next to the real beer in the cooler!

Not to be sexist, but this works better on girls. We did this at a few parties in college and it's pretty amazing.
A couple of them should have gone on to be actresses.

Is this how club music works? It would explain a lot.

I think the Daily Mail needs a better fact checking department. This reeks of BS. I nominate one of our resident stoners to try this and report back with the results. If it's true, this will greatly benefit my league of evil.

Does anybody remember some stupid DOS program from the mid-90s called 'Computer Narcotics'? I remember downloading that shit from a BBS run by one of my degenerate acquaintances, and listening to some droning sounds on my headphones for 20 minutes at a time in hopes it would feel like I just shot some smack. Sadly I was disappointed. Anyway, this sounds like the same thing.

I am disappointed in myself. With my undying love of Racer 5, I've never sprung for the Hop Rod. Nice glass BTW. I broke my R5 one.

But yeah, it's amazing the shit people will believe. Great marketing. No real risk, but everyone is talking about it. I bet those guys are raking in the dough.
