As far as the lack of support, what does it matter if Anand started the TA Seti team or not? In fact, he should be more flattered that Vapor thought enought of the site to form TA Seti on his own. I can understand that if he started the rc5 team he'd participate in it rather than SETI. I'd probably do the same. I can even understand if he's got a valid reason (personal beliefs, religion, etc) for not supporting the TA Seti team. What I don't understand is being totally ignored with no explanation as to why.
ColinP's Email is pretty clear. All we're asking for some recognition (pub) and/or support (a link on the homepage) and it's not because we need a pat on the back. Why then? Because we want more members so we can build a stronger TA Seti team. A link on the front page would go a long way toward that. We're close to reaching our peak at our current output level and it'll be pretty frustrating spinning our wheels in the same position with no home of going higher. Considering the time the current team invests in TA Seti I don't think it's asking too much for some support. Well, it's been over a week and there still hasn't been a response from Anand or anyone from Anandtech. In fact, today we also lost enough members to amount to a drop of 600+ WU's (60% of a days output).
Anandtech is a great website, my favorite. If Anand doesn't want a SETI team then that's cool. It's his site and his choice. I have no problem with that if that's the case. Still, I think we at least deserve a response if not an explanation one way or another.
