Sigh.. I was hoping for at least a 70, because the test was really hard...it was on inductors and RLC circuits and Maxwell's equations and such.. and I'm hopefully going to get a B still.. maybe a B- because UCF sucks @ss and went to the +/- scale this year

I wouldn't be SO incredibly upset to post besides the fact that my rent and bill paying scholarship needs a 3.2 and I have a 3.3, and they won't let me appeal it again if it goes under I guess I can get loans, but I really didn't want to, blah.

Sorry, just needed to complain

Sorry to hear that your Quadratic Average is inversely proportional to your Hemmoragic Fever Quotient. E=Mc2, but only on the first day of each new moon. In February. While wearing Muck-a-lucs. In the dark.

Cheer up! I failed HS Algebra. Twice! :Q

That's okay. Sometimes its good for a good looking girl to not do so well on a test every now and then. Life would be too perfect if you always got straight A's.

Don't forget that failing is not the same as a zero. All your other graded items from that class will certainly have the potential of covering for the one misstep.

Just don't let it happen again.

last semester i failed my first physics exam (electricity and magnetism too) I got like a 37... i was so embarrassed

I didn't let it get to me though... couple months later on the next test i somehow pulled out a 100... i was so relieved at myself... ended up with a B in the class... it can be done man... just don't get so discouraged and give up already... and they're right... an F still counts as points and its a hell of a lot better than a zero.. just use it as motivation and you'll be fine...

On my last physics test I raised the curve 5 percent...if anyone in my class found that out Id probably get hurt.

Last year I had physics, and everyone hated our teacher. The class avg. on tests was below 50% most of the time, and I got 102% or somewhere in there. It was pretty funny

My physics midterm average was 52 out of 100. I got a 90. They "normalized" the grades by giving everyone 25 points. I checked with my TA to ensure that this was for everyone everyone. It was. I got a 115% for that midterm. I havent gone to class for anything more than the quizes since then. I could get a 60% (normalized) on the final and still get an 'A'. Oh well, what can I say... physics pimping aint easy

Oh, on my last phys test (high school) I got 12/50 (24%) and on a quiz I got 30%. I have this crazy indian guy teacher and nobody in the class can understand him and he can't relate the info he's teaching to anything in the real world. We just get to class, write 4 pages worth of notes a day and all of those are excersises and problems. I hate it. Yeah, I'm on some scholarship too and if I fail that class I will prolly lose it. Dang it, now I gotta get all 100s in his class to get a low 80/high 70. Play time is over for me .

why did i understand physics in HS, but in college, our prof just throws equations out and lists variations of them, not explaining how to actually apply them... teaching myself has been.. umm.. not good. then on the exams he says "you'll get equations you need".... oh yeah, lets just not do that... And lets forget to give info on a question... whoops, i just wanted to waste your time on the exam.

Well...now I understand...

many of you got whooped pretty hard in highschool, yes?

Its so funny to hear comments (in similar context of course) like this:

"well, it was a hard class, but I got an A++++ and didn't even study" (if you have to point this out, your full of it)

or

"everyone else failed, but I got an A+++++" (note the extra plus, commonly know as a "superiority complex")

or my favorite

"I threw off the curve, I'm so smart" (wait until your classmates find out...smartass)

if you feel you apply to these statements, ask yourself this, "do I want a cookie?"

Forever42---don't worry my friend, most science teachers are pretty damn good about curving, and if not, keep trying harder. Sheer persistance and time will get you through this. If things don't work out, and you do need to take a loan, go for it. Welcome to the world of most college students; you'd be amazed how many parents won't pay for it. Most college loans will only require payments once you finish college.

<< clearly you are in it for the money.... >>

Well, screw you, don't you tell me what I'm in this for. It just makes my life a WHOLE lot easier to have my scholarships, AND my parents' lives (they don't have the money to pay for my tuition and everything, and my dad's about to lose his job), and it also helps me keep my eye on my goal

So STFU.

But thank you to everyone else

I don't think he curves...my bf's teacher last year did, but I don't think mine does. And yeah, I got a high B and a low A on the other tests, so with the final I think I'll be ok.
