I Feel Left Out...

I do! It seems like all of my friends are having sex and I'm the only virgin left around here!

It was ok when I was 15 and some of my friends were losing their virginity, I could recognize then that I was too young then. But now that they're all "enjoying" their significant others it's just really frustrating. For instance, one of my best friends IM'd me yesterday to say that he had lost his virginity over the weekend. And then I got to hear all the wonderful details of his wild weekend.

I'm just so sick of feeling left out of this wonderful world of...sex, I guess.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with all of you. Thanks for listening.

well, don't feel left out. I shouldn't be talking about being virgin...but just becase all of your friends are doin' it don't lose your will power to keep your flower. That is something that you still have your virginity. Be proud! And, when you do decide to give it up, hopefully you will feel it was worth the wait.

why are you holding out? for religious, personal or other reasons?

I think saving it until you're married is kind of silly in this day and age, but whatever rocks your boat...I was with someone that wanted to saver herself..we lasted about 9-10 months..that is about as long as I could have lasted anyways..

I think you need some experimentation before getting married..at least guys do..else will you truly ever know what good sex is?

You can be the only one without an unwanted pregnancy or STD, think of it that way. Sex can be a good thing but is best with someone you love. Sounds cliche, but it is true.

That's what you think at first, but if you think about it....

The whole drama of dating/finding a wife/husband, having kids and raising a family. Sure it's not entirely about sex, but sex is a huge part of it. And that whole thing is a huge part of life. I mean, look at society. Sex dominates advertising, entertainment, the news.... Sex is a huge part of life. You'd think that after millions of years of evolution we'd lose some of that instinctive driving force in our lives, but we haven't. It's still hugely important to us.

So, no, sex isn't the be all and end all of life, but it is a significant part of it.

Anyway, lots of people feel like that. I felt that way when I was 17. Don't worry about it, it'll come in due time.

For what it's worth, I don't think you should let it worry you. I'm also a virgin, but it's not something that I spend time thinking about. Being a guy and 19, I find it kind of funny how many people just assume that I've had some experience. I'll grant that it does get annoying sometimes when this one friend of mine starts talking about how she and her boyfriend tried some new position though. But I digress, as trite as it is to say, I don't really think it's something that's important enough to really warant consideration in your thoughts, just let things come as they will. Life has an interesting way of working itself out in its own time.
