You apparently did not look into the kids background of repeatedly posting similar things in the past, either.

The trolls win again.

#1 - Kid's twitter post and his twitter history is irrelevant. He is a kid.
#2 - Nash's job was to post info to Twitter on behalf of the school. Not banter with children on the schools behalf.

Now a bunch of strangers on the internet are making comments about a child in Maryland due to the actions of a former employee of Frederick County Public Schools.
Think about that for a second

That's the Streisand effect for ya. Most students were apparently supportive of this employee.

Apparently it did when the administrator pointed it out casually.

Think about that a minute.
If you want to be argumentative at least be accurate.

The misspelling still has little to do with it really.

Was just a light pay attention thing in response to the message.
Also try and be more consistent

Are you really that upset that I don't have a problem with the board terminating some new hire for getting to loose on the district twitter feed?

I'm not personally upset about it at all really.

Just seemed like a very dick move on the school systems part.

Next thing someone will get sued over not receiving a participation trophy, but I imagine that has already happened also.

I could probably look for a link and find one.

If you are done calling me a troll and calling me out in other threads, I could point you to another district that has different standards on how the district interacts with students and has allowed more banter.

Later, I've barely interacted with you in the past.

Off to other things, going to annoy the wife, I just respond to what I see more or less.

I actually went to the bar and had drinks with administration. That would never happen in NJ.

Everyone remember the teacher who was fired for posting a photo on Facebook of her holding a glass on wine during her vacation to Germany?

The Nazis fled to this country and settled in the education field.

I hear a lot of talk about how teachers can lose their job if they don't walk the fine line perfectly just as surely as I hear a lot of talk about how firing a teacher is basically impossible. Which is it?

Long-serving teachers have a sort of tenure through their union that gives them some level of job protection, as far as I know. Young teachers don't. That's why you see young teachers fired for all sorts of frivolous reasons.

So-called conservatives in the US generally hate all forms of academic tenure because it's a way to resist the race to the bottom. By contrast, conservatives and liberals in the UK have united to combat potential changes that make it easier for colleges to be called universities.

CLASSIC liberalism, perhaps. The kind where free speech is heralded, with open discussion of all ideas and their merits.

This is NOT what the "progressive left" has become. Progressives stifle all opinions contrary to their own, their own is the only accepted narrative. Opponents are not debated, they are shouted down and punished.

Anyone with the "wrong" opinion is considered "evil" with every x-ist term they can repeat until their opponent either retreats or is crushed under a dogpile.

Just because your thoughts are embarrassingly stupid doesn't mean anyone has forbid you from expressing them. Eg. perpetually playing the victim when everyone points out how laughable that is.

This is hardly unique to education. People getting fired for whatever the hell their superiors feel like is par for course in private industry.

This thread only exists because american conservatives find the circumstances particular useful for their agitprop. "Big education" being too "politically correct", even though the situation has nothing to do with either.

Depends on what you mean by liberalism.

Are probably a lot of electrical engineers etc would be frowning at you a bit

Western liberalism is a both a set of idealistic, typically egalitarian virtues and presumably the path to get there. Unfortunately most choose to avoid participation in that discussion for instead whatever dumbass reactionary talking points they're told to parrot.

For example, a typical situation is liberalism pointing to the routine bigotry of conservatism, which the latter reacts to by predictably targeting some typically lower class minority (in this case educators are a group the uneducated feel unrestrained about kicking down) example as just as bad or even worse than themselves. Such a scenario perfectly illustrates how the system works for anyone curious enough to understand matters.

Liberalism has 2 main values, the values of liber and aequalis. Both are equally important.

That's insane.

The attitude towards educators goes back to the beginning of the public education system. Back then, if you were a single female you'd be looked at negatively because you weren't married. Being a teacher meant that you were supposed to act a certain way in and out of the classroom.

Initially, unions were put in place to protect teachers from over zealous administrators. I've been in a few US schools and I've met administration both good and not so good. During my student teaching I had a principal who would wait at the door of a teacher he did not like and just stare at her. It was pure intimidation. The union reps were at that school every other week.

It makes it so difficult to have a clean image because of social media. You go out with friends to a bar and they tag you on their FB page. Your image can be plastered everywhere now Parents and their children are now able to search for your image via Google. And, now we have Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and so on. It gets even more difficult to protect your name and reputation.

And this is why our students are doing worse and worse. Society babies kids too much these days. Students in Asia are busy studying so they will do well testing into good high schools as it will affect their future careers while kids here are allowed to spell 'tomorrow' wrong. What the fuck is wrong with our country. Instead of messing around on twitter, how about the kid spend more time studying.
