I haven't had TV in 12 years or so. I briefly hooked one up to watch the 9/11 footage, and put it back in the basement before the week was over. I wouldn't pay for TV service, and don't even want it free. I could be coaxed into watching a couple of hours per day if you payed me, but I wouldn't be completely happy about it.

I hardly ever turn my TV on, but I don't think I could get rid of my cable service. Turning the TV on gives visitors something to do so I don't have to make as much polite conversation. Besides, people "expect" you to have basic cable at least.

We've been thinking about canelling our cable and going OTA + Internet. I don't think we are quite ready, but probably after Winter.

This. You guys enjoy your downloading or Hulu'ing or whatever routine you have to watch TV in the name of saving money, I watch far too many sports and shows to give up my service. (Comcast has me by the balls but it's a gentle grasp)

My isp is getting ready to finish a merger and the result is that they will soon offer history channel, Nick, +8 other tv channels via internet for $9.95 a month. I can't wait to start saving $80 a month.
