Yeah no more wasted money! Every single show I watch is from the internet, and it's been this way for years. I should have done this sooner.

I killed my tv long ago. Now it's just justintv for sports & hulu for a couple select shows. Nice to save $40+/month!

Now my dilema is trying to find a way to just get Disney and USA for my kids, the only show they watched was WWE Raw, and a random Disney show now and then

Between Hulu and Netflix + all the popular shows being on the network websites, I too am thinking about canceling my TV provider. The only problem is that they will jack up the internet rates...

I pay $20 a month for cable, it has all the none premium channels. That's like 2 days of lunch for the typical American who's too lazy to pack their own lunch.

I do torrents of the shows I watch, and we have Netflix for movies and streaming through my 360

Not if it's connected to your TV

We connected an old laptop to the TV for about $10 in cables. It works great.

I find it a lot better to just sit in front of the tv, turn the cable on and find something to watch, than go to my pc, scroll through the available options/episodes and pick one. Even if it's not exactly an episode I'd like to watch or one I've seen recently, I still prefer to watch it on tv. There's just something more relaxing to it.

And hulu doesn't work in Canada, but I've found that Ninjavideo is a suitable alternative if I need to stream something.

I canceled my cable subscription just over a year ago. Looking back, I don't really miss it that much.

I torrent the stuff I still want to watch, occasionally use Hulu/Netflix.

I happily pay $70 a month for television. It's nice to spend some chill time with the family watching shows and movies together.....or having something playing while you fold clothes or are eating breakfast or whatever. And there's some interesting shit on TV.

Though I'm sure you spend every waking minute either engaged in a great novel, having sex, or pondering the boundless mysteries of space and time with your ever-present scholarly friends.

Reported for piracy...

Do what the rest of us do and watch them in better quality from sites like hulu and such but use adblock to disable the ads.

I haven't had TV in 12 years or so. I briefly hooked one up to watch the 9/11 footage, and put it back in the basement before the week was over. I wouldn't pay for TV service, and don't even want it free. I could be coaxed into watching a couple of hours per day if you payed me, but I wouldn't be completely happy about it.

Congrats. You'll waste less time, also. I dumped satellite a couple of years ago with no regrets. I now have only a roof antenna but haven't had the tv on in over a year. Make sure you unplug the tv - they still use electricity while 'off'.

That's as bad as piracy. Read the terms of use...

How?

Through Time Warner, the 80 Channel Standard Cable is $40/mo.
(Road Runner = $40, Standard Analog Cable = $40)

If I could figure out a way to get monday night football. Discovery, History, A&E, AMC, etc etc all those channels have gone to crap. Even syfy. Not worth the $70/month.

I'd gladly get rid of my tv service if I could watch all my shows off the internet in HD. The problem I see is most of the shows on the internet are of lower visual quality then my AT&T HD uverse service.

I look into it every 3 or 4 months or so.
