well it has arrived and i am on it now it is running better than i expected, the aquamark3 score went from 18000 with the 2500 barton @2.2ghz, asrock K7VT6, 1gb pc3200ddr, geforceTi4600 128mb ddr......to 25000 with the 3000+ 64bit athlon not oc'ed,, geforceFX5750 128mb, ECS KN1 extreme, 1 gb ddr pc 3200ddr......for what i consider an entry level 64 system with pci express, it has been more than i expected....not top of the line, granted, but a good start...i will be going with a dual channel ddr kit though, which i know will make things better all in all, i can multi task so much better now.....windows dont take a few seconds to open or load now...and for the record this is with doing only a repair installation of win xp pro....and updated drivers...

Good that it works for ya. I'd still recommend a better vid card sometime if you can stomach the cost. 6600GTs are pretty solid cards.

Don't let em get you down by knocking your motherboard. I had an ECS K7S5A for years, and it always did me right. But then, I'm using a Chaintech board now, and I like it too. Go figure.

About your board, i think the reviews have been positive as well, so I wouldn't worry about it either, it should work. The graphics card is just about the worst thing you could have bought though, seriously.
i guess you havent used my combinations either, the 5750 beat the 4600 hands down in my games, which are flight sims...overall the system performs better than i expected...so i am very pleased with it....

i also must say the 4600 performed much worse in the 3 benchmarks i use, aquamark3, 3dmark2001, 3dmark03....all in all after a fresh format and updating the drivers for everything, it is runnning very very well...i am very pleased and later on this summer when prices drop on better video cards and such, i will upgrade

well after everything was loaded, my new maxtor hd died 80 gb less than 30 days old, this is the fourth maxtor to die in less than 6 months...i had always used maxtors and they had been great, up until recently....they all were from different systems and none of my other hard drives have died...seagate, wd, etc... so i am replacing it with a new seagte from newegg, gonna rma the maxtor and sell it i think....bummer, running this new rig on a ancient 8 gig quantum bigfoot 5.25 drive....4000 rpm...geeeeezz its slooooow

well i finally got my new seagate from newegg and i am back up and running quick again! i dont understand all the people who have expressed misgivings about my new setup, it is quick, and plays my games perfectly and gives me much higher scores in the benchmarks like 3dmark and aquamark3 than my old system did, which was a barton 2500 oc'ed to 2.2ghz with a geforce Ti4600 and 1 gb ram...i am very pleased with ti and when the time comes this summer or fall i will upgrade to a better video card as i can afford it, and it wont be a refurbished one either, i dont care how cheap it is, i dont have good luck with refurbed stuff....thanks for all the input, even the crappy comments

In a similar thread in which I posted for socket 939/nF4 mobos there were plenty of people that recommended the ECS.... you'll be fine !!!

Glad you like your system. Just remember that this is a hardware forum, and there are lots of hardware enthusiasts in here. As you should know by now, everyone has their own opinion about certain types of hardware. That is what makes this forum great. People aren't afraid to say they think something is great or something is crap. You have to just compare those remarks with reviews you find online and the advice of people you trust to make your own informed decision. You've got to go with what you know, and what you can afford, and hope for the best. I am sure you will be perfectly happy with what you have now for quite awhile.
