I finally have a kitchen again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stupid renovation took much longer than it should have. Haven't had a working kitchen since the 1st of July. was supposed to be done in September, its now basically all done. Really just have to do the crown molding and kick plates for the cabinets now. The hold up was the cabinets, Hand made by a Mennonite dude, took forever but cost 1/3 of what the kitchen design place wanted for the same thing.

Gutted and removed everything, totally changed the layout of the kitchen, all new appliances (minus fridge it was new already),new counter top and cabinets, new heating, closed off a door way, punched a hole in a wall to make a new door, built an airlock, large deck extension

I like it! I enjoy cooking and baking, so a good kitchen is huge for me. Although, I have one complaint (like I matter )... what's with the single sink? I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate having a single sink in the kitchen as there are some things I don't wash in the dishwasher such as baking sheets or cooling racks. The dishwasher just destroys them. :\

I have those exact kitchen slide-out cabinets in my place. They're really nice. Previous owner redid the entire kitchen.

That is an awesome turnaround job. Looks great. Great choice in the color scheme. Been a fan of black & white schemes for a lot of things for a long time.

i like a large double or one that has a large/small side but whatever works. the new kitchen is pretty slick.

there is a silly amount of space for stuff in here, the cupboard next to it has more food in it, + not having a kitchen for 4 months has something to do with it.

side with the catfood just has breakfest stuff and jelly/jam right now. spices, soups, dry goods(pasta rice) and all that are in the other one

both the corner cupboards abive and below the microwave are lazy susans, baking goods are in the upper one some random things on the lower one

Definitely looks better.
I do suspect you getting burned more than what should happen with how the controls are set up on the stove. As a rule you don't want to be touching stuff that close to them when cooking.

Awesome. I'm about to go thru the same thing but nowhere near that big a job. Buying a house that has ugly 80s kitchen and will have to rip it all out. I like that touch with the water faucet above the stove. Wish I have gas cooking.

i actually thought that but i was using it the other day and the knobs stay cool.

However if you are running the oven at the same time you are using a bunch of pots you do run the risk of that as you have to put your arm over something. but no real other way around it

Nice job bro! The checkered floor is going to be hit and miss with people. I personally don't like them but it looks good on yours. How much did it run you? Did you do it yourself or a contractor?

Contractor, just shy of 100, about 15 over the estimate. Had to do a lot more work than they expected after gutting the kitchen. basically because the previous one was put together by Tim Allen and shit was all kinds of wrong

cost includes the deck addition which you can see in the gallery, outside the door next to the fridge

it was solid green before i added the yellow, looked less like puke in person but yea not much you could do without gutting. also the old cupboards didnt have the glass, i added that, they were just open /facepalm

whole list of other stuff wrong as well and not just in the kitchen
