I finally made it! New Grad & RN

why can't a guy be a RN? what is the average for an RN made a yr? 100K?

I made 60K last year as an RN with 6 years experience. My pay will max out like 80K a year as a staff nurse. And there is nothing wrong with being a male nurse. My current girlfriend loves that I'm a guy nurse.

It's a fun job (if you have the right mindset) with good job security, competitive salary, and most of your coworkers are female (and have even more female friends). Yeah, terrible job for a guy,

Congrats My second job was IT Support in my University's School of Nursing. I have nothing but immense respect for everyone going through RN programs. I saw a lot of sleepless nights for a lot of those students.

Congrats! Probably one of the most secure jobs too. There's always a cry for more nurses, whether it's hospital, old age homes, etc.

Actually, nursing graduates are having a hard time finding jobs these days. Blame it on so many working longer when their spouses lost jobs during the economic downturn. ICU openings are particularly rare.

Dude, those are whole states. Generally speaking, a nurse in (insert community/metro serving 1.5M) will make more than one in (insert community/town serving 25K), unless the 25K town is like the Hamptons or something (i.e. some wealthy burb or enclave).

Well it depends on cost of living as well.
