There's a big difference between Camry and a new H2, or buying a kid a second BMW after he crashed the first one. I wish I was making this stuff up.

One girl I heard crashed her volkswagen jetta on the freeway. She got another, and crashed that too. Then she got another car

not really unless you are living vicariously and can't afford that.

Sky rocketed would be an understatement. Her rate must be 3 times higher then her car payment.

The best of the rich do that, yes. The best of the poor also work really hard to make up for it, developing good work habits and learning lots of valuable life lessons in the process.

And then there's real life, where both rich and poor are lazy and do just enough work to get them through life, without learning anything at all. It would be a pretty sad competition, really.

However, I think that jpeyton was referring to a crash, and implying that the deck is stacked against the poor...which is true.

I pay for every $280 a month bill and pay my own insurance.

Just because a kid has a nice car doesn't mean they are spoiled. They might have worked very hard for it like me.

Why the hell would you do that when there's still college to consider. I would've just got any car that works.

Because my scholarships cover college. And if not, my parents will cover it.

My parents are rich, and they worked their asses off for years to get there. Their main drive was to be able to have their children live comfortably. I make awesome grades and work real hard at my job and they pay me back by giving me money when I need it and paying for my college.

Just like that guy with the SLK AMG.

I forgot his name, where did he go?

Mhm

Even if I were rich, my kid wouldn't be getting a brand new expensive car. They'd be lucky to get a new car and it wouldn't be expensive or nice. It would be practical and safe.

Nevermind, I wouldn't buy them one. They'd be workin' for that sh!t somehow, but raising ~$10K (give or take a few grand) is kind hard for teenagers.

...and I'd rather my kids focused that energy on school anyhow

An SLK cost alittle more than a Mazda3.

That's a totally another world of rich.

I dont know what I would do.

I would want my kid to work for his own car, but I would also want him to get good grades, and I can definitely say that working nights has effected my grades.

Its also hard finding a good paying job.

Ah, well let me explain why I was mistaken as to his meaning. A head-to-head car crash with a rich kid could never happen as his rich car would blast the oncoming poor car to bits, with rocket launchers and such, at the first sign of impending impact.

Wasn't that Qosis?

Isn't Duddy the same guy that want to kill has dad because he didn't get Duddy the car he wanted? Or is Duddy the guy that gave his girl a curfew and forced her to not get a tattoo?

It's hard to work up from a really nice car. Not all colleges ever let you drive to school your first few years, unless you commute to school I think. I see a car as a method of transportation as of now, that may change in the future, but I'd rather not pay for a sh!tty car, than pay for a nice car. btw, my town's high school has escalade after escalade pouring out of their parking lot, yes this side of my town is loaded.

My parents bought me a car and never asked me to work because they wanted me to focus on my studies rather than working.

I've never understood this arguement, so...??? Isn't that what insurance is for? You wreck your car and you get another one, how is this hard to comprehend?

It's sad .... I don't understand it either.

Those kids are going to have one hell of a reality hit.

Funny thing is ... it's probably one of hte few things my in-lkaws did right when raising there kids. My wife had a Saturn when I met her. To put things in persepctive ... in the 80s, her dad considered buying a Lamborghini. They could have gotten anything she could have dreamed. My wife's sister got a Mini Cooper though. Not that expensive ... but not cheap.
