I guess maybe if I were in a prison with a TV in my cell that I couldn't turn off or change channels and wasn't allowed access to a library or anything. Maybe then?
But in all realistic scenarios, I'd find something else to do. I found some of The Office enjoyable and still didn't watch all 9 seasons.

I tried to like it but I couldn't get past ~3 episodes. I agree, shit just wasn't funny. Maybe the occasional "meh" and a rare laugh out loud... overall not worth the time.

Just curious, have you worked in an office type of environment before?

I think that's what makes it funny for me...a lot of the insidious little stuff that goes on in the office like pranks or corporate stupidity happen on the show too, so it's relatable. OTOH, I relate somewhat to the Big Bang Theory (although I'm a computer nerd, not a science nerd) & don't find it funny at all. Everyone I work with loves it, but it's just super boring to me. Maybe because my friends are nerds so I already live the life lol.

See, that's how it is for the Big Bang Theory for me...most people think it's hilarious, but it doesn't make me laugh at all. Yet I spent many years in an office and the Office made me laugh a lot. You would think that because both are relatable, both would be funny...guess it depends on the type of humor.

this episode of the office (season 3 epiosde 9) is my absolute favorite episode of any TV show i've ever watched

i have watched it probably 30 times and LOL every time. the andy hitting on pam gig is perfect.

I like it overall and currently watching it myself (near the beginning of Season 8). I think Creed is the best character, I just like his crazy off the wall comments. The trolling of Dwight's character is pretty awesome throughout. The Andy character is annoying AF and delivers no funny moments to me.

Alright, maybe the first few seasons, after that they simply focused fire on their audience (which is mostly stupid people) and made it more about LOL the smart person made a stupid funny!

When I finished it, I was pissed that Steve Carroll abandoned the show and left it to suck balls. Which it pretty much did till the end of episode 9. It was his show and he just said Eff it I have other projects and left.
Imagine that Jerry Seinfeld left and gave the show to the guy from the Original Stargate movie. But none of the original cast left. That's how it felt.

I can't say for certain just how great or horrible The Office was. I can say that I almost didn't make it past the first season because I found the Michael Scott character to be so annoying. However, in season 2, things mellowed out a bit and the show got a lot better. I watched a few seasons of it........probably up till the wedding. Did I like the show? Yes. Would I say it was a great show? No. I found it to be rather hit or miss. Some episodes had some funny parts and some weren't very funny at all. That's just my thoughts. To the people who found it constantly hilarious and great, I think that's cool and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I think he left because they were dragging the show on too long. It needed to end when Michael left, but NBC had finally stumbled on a cash cow and just couldn't let those udders go.

Yeah. People made me watch like 2 episodes of BBT. I recall some episode where Sheldon was being pressured to get a driver's license.
