Much as the Sea Shepherd crew can be annoying, there is no question in my mind they are on the right side of this issue. The Japanese are engaged in systematic, unlawful behavior that has significant consequences for the planet. Would you guys also root for the dolphin killers after watching The Cove?

If they want to eat something with high contents of mercury, have at it. As for the whales, they are not killing a species on the verge of being extinct.

This. I hope they manage to bother the Japanese enough to cause them to stop whaling.

They might not have to, with whale meat declining in popularity, it may only be a matter of time for them to stop on their own.

They're not endangered which means they are dinner. What consequences does it have on the planet if something is being hunted that isn't endangered? Nothing, you pansies remind of some bleeding heart liberals I know. If I could donate to the Japanese I would. Nothing better than seeing their million dollar POS boat get fcked up last season.

I hope you are kidding. It is perfectly acceptable in Japanese law. International laws (if there really were such a thing) created the research loophole specifically for them because they knew that Japan would not agree to anything that threatens their own sovereignty. Grow up. What "consequences" are there? They've been sustainably hunting non-endangered whale for hundreds of years and never driven them close to extinction like the rest of the world did to their desirable species, so why should they suffer under some blanket knee-jerk law?

Sentient as in feeling pleasure or pain? When was the last time you ate a burger, bro? How about squid (calamari), crabs, or lobster?
http://ciwf.org.uk/animal_sentience/policy_and_culture/default.aspx

Many societies now accept animal sentience implicitly or explicitly in their legal systems. Many of the laws and regulations for the protection of animals (apart from those concerned merely with conservation of species) clearly assume that at least all vertebrate animals (mammals, birds, fish, etc.) can experience suffering from a variety of causes, for example from pain, discomfort and hunger, as well as fear, anxiety and frustration.

GTFOOH. I'm not changing my diet b/c a 2 IQ animal has "sentience". Put that in your vegetarian pipe and smoke it. And calling all delicious animals: Get in my belly.

I love crabs, especially on my plate. Are you really crying over how a crab is killed? Jesus, that's tame compared to what I've seen done to fish and chickens. In any case, you can't eat the crab if it's killed that way so that person is a moron. You steam them alive so it won't release the toxin in the meat.

I didn't get the impression that he was against eating crabs.

Paul Watson is such a dickhead. I hate him the most and his ego. Last show I watched he told Chris Aultman to fly the Helicopter up in the snow storm and he was like no and said he will fly when he feels it is safe. After Chris walked out the room Paul was telling everyone he really annoying, poor Paul's ego got hurt.

Peter Brown who was first mate on season 1 and half of season 2 was anther dickhead who is dumb as a rock. How he was first mate was baffling. I'm glad he left he would of sunk the boat just trying to navigate it.

I really like Peter Hammarstedt who is first mate now. He seems to be one of the more level headed crew.

Chris Aultman the helicopter pilot is anther one I like and I still wonder why he is a part of this cluster fuck.

Pedro Monteiro is second mate and how the hell he got there. The dude sounds like Lurch when he talks, monotone and no reaction to anything, good choice there Paul.

That bald guy that had his ship sank was wild man but damn did he get annoying after that.

This list could go on and on these guys are entertaining and I enjoy watch this shipwreck.

I don't go by that definition. Everything with nerves feels pain. I don't really have a problem with that.

Cetacean's, primates and parrots are intelligent. Therefore I don't eat them. I am not a veggie btw. I just prefer my meat to be raised in a feces covered barn and injected with co2 to look yummy!

Its even better than that. The international moratorium on whaling was imposed to allowing whale populations to be studied for the expressed purpose of creating a sustainable whale harvest or quotas. The only country doing this research as originally intended is Japan (and perhaps Norway). The moratorium has become invalid and unenforceable since whale-humpers have co-opted the original purpose of the moratorium and used it as a way to shield whales from any harvest no matter the population health.

Pigs are sentient and more intelligent than dogs. What other strange moral delineations do you have in store for us?

Also, who enforces international laws without a one-world government? International waters are international for a reason.

Define intelligent. So some species get a pass because they have a bigger brain? Uh huh.
http://www.toptenz.net/top-10-smartest-animals.php

Better not eat octopi or squid, they're smarter than the average "smart" housepet. Which of course you wouldn't eat either. What about pigs? They're considered intelligent as well.

Do you avoid pork because pigs can learn neat tricks? What about BACON?

Its amazing how Watson had a bullet proof vest on last season and magically claimed to get shot while the cameras were rolling. Never saw a vest after that, what a coincidence.

nor any bruising on his chest. he was never shot it was staged, if he was indeed shot he would have drop like a rock even with kevlar its going to knock the wind out of you and hurt like a mother fucker. Also at that close range a rife round would have gone through the vest and there is no way in hell a dude with a hand gun (because the vest would stop a hand gun round) could have made that shot.

I agree that it may have been staged, but:

I hate Whale Wars. Just sayin'.

I like to watch it from time to time in hopes one of those hippies drowns.

I don't like the idea of whaling at all; I just think those morons are a bunch of pansies. Not to mention... WHAT A STRING ALONG SHOW!

"How do we make 2 minutes worth of action in 4 months of filming exciting?"
