That is very sick and sadistic. It's not like the cat did anything to you, besides cross a street. I guess it wouldn't be so tradgic if you were crossing a street and a big hummer ran you over either.

And for the record, yes I like cats very much.

Dude that is really sick...

Yeah, had a rather sickening sensation myself when my passenger told me what it was I just hit. The only consolation I had was that I imagine it was rather quick and painless.

All I have to say is if I caught one of you sick asshats causing harm to my cat you'd probably be dead.

Well, if you can't keep your dark-colored cat off a dark-colored street in the middle of the night, then I'm sorry, but if I don't see your cat until it's too late, I'm not going to consider myself a "sick asshat" just because you say so.

Because you bragged about it. You wore it as a badge of honor on your sleeve. How obtuse are you? Could you not understand the substance of my post? Someone needs to get an education.

Nice imagery. I think I'll go out and get myself a wonderful little badge that says "Champion Cat Killer" to honor my honest mistake and stick it on my chest, wearing it proudly and maybe even attracting media attention. Maybe I'll get "Obtuse Ignorant Fool" to stick on my left arm, and "National I-Need-An-Education-Badly Finalist Award" to stick on my right.

Why would you want to kill something causelessly like that? I can understand not wanting to swerve to put yourself or someone else at risk, but hitting an animal that could be avoided by slowing down or going around it is a rather sadistic thing to do. It could be some kid's pet, wouldn't that just make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?
Did I say I wanted to kill it? If I had seen it, I would have swerved. Forget myself or my passenger. I wasn't riding around looking for something to roll my vehicle over. If I see anything at all on the road, I try my best to miss it as I don't know what's in/under it. Could be a kid. If you nail a cat without seeing it, is that still such a sadistic thing to do?

Oh, and all of you guys whining about my accidental slaughter of a feline a couple nights ago, how many of you own a flyswatter? They're readily available in stores all over the place. My guess is that you think it's justified to kill flies, but not cats... why? Because flies are a nuisance whereas cats are generally accepted as domestic pets? Because cats are mammals? Why?

Do you kill rodents such as rats/mice? You are aware that there are traps commercially available to catch these "pests" which infest houses, do you not?

Well... when my dad was growing up, he lived on a farm. That didn't make him a "hillbilly"; in fact, the first thing he did at 17 was leave to go to the Air Force Academy because he knew that the farming life wasn't for him. Too bad they retired his F-111B. I heard that was a pretty sweet aircraft. Anyway, I digress: if you grow up on a farm, cats become like rodents or flies. They just populate like rabbits and take over. Cats crawling everywhere, tons of inbreeding going on... if you've seen some of the cats I have seen, you'd understand why sometimes it's more humane to put a bullet in its head than to let it go on living in that condition.

Anyway, if you've ever taken the flyswatter down and gone around fly hunting or set a mouse trap, you've had more malicious intent than I had when I nailed that cat. Regardless, these methods are quick and painless. I don't think the fly feels much when it gets swatted, do you? And when I die, I hope it's quick and painless. And whether or not it's an accident isn't going to make any difference to me, so the rest of the people around to whine about it might as well just get over my death, whether accidental or intentional, because it's done. It's over and I'm gone, and no amount of whining over the amount of justice or injustice incurred is going to bring me back. All it will do is breed bitterness. So if you want to be bitter at me for offing a cat, that's up to you. But you're only harming your overall psyche.

So thanks for the flames; sometimes it's encouraging to know that people on a message board overreact even more than my parents used to when I was living in their house. Based on scant information, people are already ready to sentence you to hell. I guess that's why the media is so powerful and why propaganda is such a widely used tool. Lots of suckers out there.

Trying to justify enjoying running over a cat by using your pappy's activities when he wasn't busy copulating with livestock isn't very smart. But it was good try. A very good try, now go back to your crayons.

That is a few more personal attacks in a row than I can stand. Come back in two weeks to see if you can show a little more respect for others. If you cannot, we can extend your stay elsewhere.

Hey, I'm with you! I hate them as well!

I'm with both of you guys. Kittens are OK, Cats are useful on a farm as long as the don't try to come near me. Other than that my saying is "the only good cat is a dead cat".

This makes me wonder... If someone can kill a cat or some other small animal like that, what's next? Are you violent in other areas of your life? Spousal abuse? Were you abused as a child or picked on by bullies? I honestly can't understand how people can be so cruel to animals.

Well a giraffe would at least have killed you, which would be a kinder fate than the slow painful death you'll likely go through after getting an STD from yer Pop.

Oh man, tough crowd!!!!!!!

Cats are domesticated pets. Rats and flies are neither domesticated nor pets.

They're also eaten in some countries. And on my dad's farm, they weren't pets. They were used for rat control, and when they themselves got to be a problem, they were shot along with the rest of the barnyard pets. Just because you're used to seeing them as pets doesn't make them more humane than any other animal. Whether or not the cat I ran over was a pet, I can't say... because I never saw it.

Trying to justify enjoying running over a cat by using your pappy's activities when he wasn't busy copulating with livestock isn't very smart. But it was good try. A very good try, now go back to your crayons.

1. I didn't enjoy it.
2. I didn't justify it using my pappy's activities.
3. Since I didn't try it, it wasn't a good try.
4. Go back to making your strawmen arguments elsewhere... crayons or no crayons.

Ya lets go and kill a puppy and a few dogs, lets stick the dog in the middle of the road late at night, turn on the high beams and honk the horn and watch it run down the middle of the road then right when it thinks it has a chance of getting away you speed up bump the dog and make sure it breaks a leg, then you can slowly inch the car tire over the dogs body and listen to it howl and die a slow death YAY WOULDNT BE THAT FUN!!!!

:disgust::disgust::disgust:

Thats what some of you sound like that hate cats, hell I hate dogs with a passion but to kill something just because you hate it is just plain wrong, its only doing what is part of its nature!

My cat used to be very playful like that but he mainly has grown out of it. He still will "hunt" my sister though sometimes. If you act like you are afraid of it, even when it is older, it still might go after you. He also likes to paw people at 5:30 AM to get some food in his bowl. He will stand on your chest and gently paw your face until you wake up. How would you like to see this wake you up.

I'd love to see that when I wake up. A very cute cat indeed.

you just have to admire the cat for what they are - an extremely efficient killing machine. that little kitten is doing what is natural for itself. it would be like somebody kicking your @$$ for m@$turbating, it is just part of growing up. remember that cats are nocturnal(sp?) so they will be up all night and sleep all day.
