Whats that in relation to a model number ? 4200+/4300?

Great overclock, I am going to wait a few more months for yeilds to improve before attempting the same.

yields to improve?

i think the yields are pretty good righ tnow.

seems as though the 3000/3200/3500 are averaging above 2.6 ghz which is pretty darn good....

AMD plans for 2.8 and 3 Ghz parts from 90 nm process, so there still some headroom there + with strained silicon etc

true but you can just get another chip then

that's what i'd do.

well, I can get my 3000+ to 2.7GHz, but i get errors in prime too
you didnt "get your 3500+ to 2.7GHz" if you can't run it like that. I'm running at 2.65GHz 100% prime stable.

30 minutes before error in prime is not a stable overclock. I can get to 2600mhz on my 3200+ newcastle, but it errors out within 20 minutes. I would not consider this a good overclock. I can run prime stable for 48+ hours at priority 10 at 2475. At 2500, I get errors within 1-5 hours (depending on voltages). I consider my 2475 a stable overclock, while 2500 is no good.

Or wait till a 3500 (2.2 Ghz) is able to hit 2.8/ 3 Ghz no problem on air for a fraction of the price, its what overclocking is all about.

And just think what happens when they start putting SS in, 3 Ghz will be easy.

You'd think Intel may have caught on by now with SOI/SS.

Ditto caboob! Time to take a break from CS and start with teh early morning tweakzors again

Anyway any OC that doesn't run Prime stable 100% is not a successful OC, imo. I can get up to 2.75 but I crap out in Prime after a minute. Did it OC? Yes. Is it stable? No. So is it successful? Psh, no. I run 2.61 right now 100% stable, and that is my successful OC.

So let me brag. Finally. Upped my vore to 1.55 (now reads 1.6 in cpu-z), and over vid of 5%. I was prime 95 stable for 1 minute before it errored. Not bad.

PS - I hate resetting CMOS when my system stops POSTing after I overdo it. I'm always afraid of losing my jumper or breaking a pin or something.

I dont know....HOw about trying 1.36, 1.37mod, or 1.41mod....This will give options that should take you up to 1.62v actual.....

General rule is you ar 30 minutes stable??? It likely would take another .05v to be 24 hours stable......025v jumps which is tough to get on this boards could get you 2-4 hours stable.....Try 1.5v set and 8.3% over vid....ON my board (same as yours) it give me 1.57-1.58v idle and 1.59v load.....1.5v set and 5.0% overvid gets me 1.52-1.53v idle and 1.54v load...
