I got my check from my employer times 2, can I get in trouble?

Ok so I got paid on Thursday and I signed up for direct deposit a few weeks ago. I came into work got my check and deposited it into my account. I am now looking at my account and it says that my employer deposited my check into my account but I also deposited my check. So I got my checkX2, can I get in trouble for this?

I Don't think you can get in any trouble, unless you spend the extra money. If you like your employer, tell him, if not, keep it.

Usually, when you sign up for direct deposit, you also give them the right to take back anything they put into your account. This gives them the right to take away that direct deposit mistake they made. I would let them know about it if you want to keep your job.

Same thing happened to my friend. They'll notice in a few weeks and just take the money back. Don't sweat it

so basically they issued you two payments. It shows up under your total amount column. I don't remember the UPS checks that well, but its there. If its not, it means they have no record of it...its most likely a banking mistake. Either way, I would wait before I spend it.

Like it's been said, if you like your employer, report it. Since you have two paychecks in the bank, you could always put the one into savings and milk some interest off of it until they ask for it back
