I like to say happy holidays. At the very least, my intention is to encompass both Christmas and New Year's since they're both so close to each other, plus you capture all the other holidays in one saying. Saying "Merry Christmas and happy New Year!" is just too much work and pretty cheesy.

From another recent thread. Andrews puts to video what I've been doing/saying since I was 12 (far more eloquently though), when I decided enough was enough and left my mothers church.

No, there isn't. The first mention of Jesus was 50 years later by a person who was not in same place at the same time that imaginary Jesus supposedly lived. The wannabelievers accept that as evidence. And that, after 2000 years of searching for evidence and trying to connect the dots is the VERY BEST that the Jesus-freaks can come up with. A 3rd person story from a guy that admits he wasn't there and never met imaginary Jesus.

You're fucking stupid if you dont agree with the universally accepted historical facts that 1 Jesus was bapitized by john and 2 Pilate condemned Jesus to crucifixion.

Actually they are not universally accepted facts at all. Where can you find those two outside of the Bible? The Romans never mention Jesus being crucified.

Noted

To be honest with you in an infinite universe with infinite time he is as likely to exist as he is not. As is god so on and so forth.
Who said our Universe was infinite with infinite time? And even if this were true, we can say the same about the other gods Humans have believed in as well.

ROLFMAO? Is that the best you've got? You agree with me fucktard. Your own reference is the guy I was talking about. The VERY FIRST mention of Jesus was written more than 50 years after imaginary Jesus supposedly lived and it was written by a guy that wasn't there. To any person with a functioning brain, THAT IS EVIDENCE JESUS DIDN'T EXIST.

Try to wrap your tiny brain about this analogy:

Suppose you have a neighbor that was born in the 1960s that says that he heard of a guy named Elmo that was around in the 1940s that was pretty incredible. He never met Elmo and never met anyone that met Elmo, but he heard that Elmo was really something. Elmo climbed Mt Everest in shorts and flip-flops! Elmo won the Indy 500 on foot! Elmo invented the internet! Elmo cured chronic fapping! Wow!! You want to learn about Elmo, so you try to find out about him. You check the history books. Nothing. Hmmm. Look up the list of people who conquered Everest. He's not there. Pull tapes of all the Indy 500 finishes. He never won. WTF? That can't be right, Elmo was freaking awesome!! So you go back to Elmo's old neighborhood. Talk to people, look up records, surely a guy that incredible left a mark on the world. Surely someone met him and saw him do those things. Nope. Not a person. Elmo did not impress a single person to mention him or note his existence in any way.

What conclusion does any reasonable person draw? That the entire world is fucked up or that your neighbor is a nutjob? Don't hurt yourself on that one.

NOBODY on earth noticed Jesus while he was here. NOBODY! Not a single word was written by him or about him by anyone in that area at that time. Nobody met him, talked to him, heard him speak or interacted with him or his imaginary followers in any way. Then 60 years later some nutjob concocts him out of thin air, gives him the same backstory as about a dozen other gods that existed in that area beforehand and to you that's evidence that Jesus was real? WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR BRAIN DAMAGE?

The holy word of god is all the "proof" I need. You want hard facts and sources form 2000 years ago. Easier said than done, it comes down to having faith in something. I'll find out if it's true or not soon enough, until then I'll keep the faith I've got. It seems to have done me well compared to your miserable ass.

How do you know that the Bible is the holy word of your god? And you are wrong what about faith, what is true matters more then what you want to believe.

If clients wish me a merry Christmas, I wish them the same, if someone says happy holidays, I return the feeling. We celebrate all holidays at my job & respect diversity. Heck it was my job to keep the menorah burning brightly & I was proud to do it!

Only one person has injected politics into their Christmas greeting; I ignored the comment & wished him & his family a healthy, prosperous new year.

Wishing someone a merry Christmas is a general pleasantry where I live it's like saying happy birthday or happy new year.

Although many years ago a place I worked at gave everyone a Christmas ham one of the guys was a Shia Muslim from Iran.

OK as I was getting my meds this morning and going back to my apartment, I said "Happy Holidays" to a lady and she went off on me. She was saying that I should put Christ back in Christmas as that the reason for the season.

I mean good grief, this is the first time I experienced this and I live in a town with lots of churches. Then I mentioned this to guy I was riding with my med cab going to groups. He was upset that people were saying Xmas as he thought was taking Christ out Christmas.

Now I have always said Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Xmas all my life and this is the first time I even ran into anyone who took offense to two out of the three.

Have you guys ever run into this before?

You should have told her that it covers Christmas and New Year.

In order to avoid offending people at this sensitive time of year, I propose that we all use this greeting whenever we interact with other sentient (or not) beings.

Please accept my non-denominational holiday wishes with no obligation, implied or implicit, and my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2018, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the recipient of the favorable wishes.
