Ive got two boys, a 5-month old and 2 year old and after years of saying "we arent the parenting type" we proved ourselves wrong and wouldnt change a thing!!!!

Just remember, its okay to listen to other "expert" parents but dont always take everyones advice as gospel. Trust your instincts and you will be fine. Reading a book or two about what to expect is very helpful to get you prepared. And dont worry, sleep is overrated

If you've been trying to get pregnant for 6 months, you should have a pack of the bulk pregnancy test strips from Amazon.com. They cost like $.25 apiece and work as well as the $5 tests you get at the store. Every time my wife gets pregnant she starts taking the tests daily so she can see how the line gets darker from day to day as her HCG level rises at the beginning of the pregnancy.

Some of them also come with ovulation tests, which are useful when you're trying to get pregnant.

Congrats!! I am father of 2, its the best thing that ever happened to me. Wouldn't trade it for the world. The first 2 year of the baby's life is the most enjoyable and fulfilling, do not waste a moment of it.

BTW, the baby will not recognize you or respond to you for the first 2months, don't be disheartened.

And about the dream you had, its perfectly normal, whatever is in your subconscious mind is brought forward by dreams.
