if the dude wants to thank god, why can't he do so without being questioned?
stfu already.
Go troll someplace else
Seriously people, get this one thing straight - God uses means to accomplish things - uses doctors and all that stuff. Not some wowie-zowie "BAM healed!" miracle.
So thank the doctors, and thank God for the doctors.
It really is some kind of sickness or personality issue. It really burns these people up, gets deep under their skin, that someone else has different spiritual beliefs than they do.if the dude wants to thank god, why can't he do so without being questioned?
Damn. Lucky it was found because of Nausea and not a massive Heart Attack.
This makes me want to call and get a physical. What kind of screening tools are there for heart blockage? A cardiogram? I want to know what kinds of tests I should demand.
.
What kind of fucking nurse tells your wife your body is trying to die?
You know, sounds harsh, but I tell you what I bet his wife will be very angry with him if he starts back on the path of poor health. I can guarantee she doesn't want to go through something like that again.

Maybe they were the favorite "choir boy" of their priest/pastor/minister/deacon in their childhood? They just seem really angry about something, so much that they can't let it rest.
I'm atheist but I don't go around asking "Why the fuck do you go to church/pray/believe in God?" as though it makes me angry or something.
Its just sound logic and psychosocial analysis. When someone reacts so angrily or feels compelled to inject their unsolicited opinion in response to something as innocuous, generic, and nearly universal as someone who feels compelled to "thank God" for being alive after a severe illness or injury, it strongly suggests there is some very deep personal or emotional connection there causing these feeling in them. Hell, even non-religious people can often be found using this expression as a customary figure of speech. You say they have some sort of sickness or personality issue, then go and try and insinuate some sort of sexual scenario in their past. Yeah, it doesnt sounds like youre the one with issues at all here...:hmm:

For the massive number of atheists out there who just seem as though they literally cannot stop themselves from attacking, marginalizing, or insulting others with different spiritual beliefs, what other explanation is there? They are still really deeply angry because they weren't given their favorite part in the church play? They mistakenly put a $20 bill instead of a $10 in the tithing plate, and the church wouldn't give them their $10 back?
The kind of seething bitterness or resentment demonstrated by many atheists goes much deeper and personal than such trivial grievances.
So let the doctor speak for himself. And as someone who worked in surgery for several years, I can tell you 95% of surgeons would never find this insulting in the least. The other 5% are the really arrogant/narcissistic doctors who really DO think of themselves in God-like terms. Its not the responsibility of atheists to advocate on behalf of those who they think MIGHT be offended when people give credit to God.I'd say the worse insult is to the doctor, where the implication is either that the doctor is a puppet...

Wow that's crazy. So you had no idea you even had heart issues and they did this as an emergency bypass? That's was quite a surprise to wake up from that I'm sure.
My dad got a quadruple bypass a couple years back. It's quite something to go through. It was also a bit scary being at the hospital while it was being done. I was able to get the time off so I went with my mom and sister. I knew God was with him and that all would go well, and it did.
