I hate ASUS' support

Just have to complain somewhere. When I want to download something from the ASUS site. I never manage that first time. The site is always too crowded, and I'm told to try their other sites. When I finally managed to get to a download page, I got a download speed of 3K/s, and two of the three downloads hang after a while. Now I can't even get to the driver download page.

It's not a one time experience, either. Every time I try to download something I have to go through this nonsense. Doesn't happen with other companies.

ET you're not alone. There are many posts like yours that I've read here. Fortunately I've never had that problem with the ASUS site. I have DSL, I'm in Canada, and access the North America site. I have tried the Asia site, and while it is slower, it still connects. ASUS tech help has been pretty prompt in replying to my queries. ( I hope it stays that way for me)
Perhaps the problem is with your ISP or your connection to the ISP ( Dial-up, etc)
I suggest trying to connect to different global sites at different times of the day and see what has the most success.

I agree with ET, I have the same problem here in Brazil and also have DSL. The website often gives me a message saying that its too crowded, and for me to try other locations.

i dont care bout downloading 5mb drivers with 5kb, what i dont like bout Asus is the product quality, they should start selling higher quality products and not trouble-makers.

How are they trouble makers? Btw, the North American site works fine for me.
I'm happy with my ASUS board (P4P800e Deluxe) - not a single problem. You might be right though, on the AMD side of things, 2 of their boards went bad: A8N-SLi and A8V-E. But other than that they've been pretty good recently.

Asus support is HORRIBLE in all facets. They generally make good products but their support is horrendous. Then again, that goes for the vast majority of mobo makers.

I used to love Asus. Fast reply back to emails. Motherboards with feature packed. But, my last experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I recently purchased their new P5WD2-e Premium motherboard. The first Intel dual core mobo available. And the first motherboard of their new Ai Life Motherboard series. Reading about Ai Life, the number one feature(only new one) is a Wifi-TV card. It acts as a wifi a/b/g access point, analog/digital cable pvr and fm stereo.

To my surprise, the motherboard I received did not come with the Wifi-TV card. Reviewers have received the card and only recently their website listed only one model of this motherboard, so you would assume that you would also get it. Now, after calling Asus US pre-sales, technical support, customer service and rma groups. No one knows of a second model for this board. And none of them want to help me out.

I have sent Asus several emails with no response. Sadder yet, for a Premium motherboard you would think you were getting all the bells and whistles. Nope. They have downgraded the features and components of the board. No more IDE Raid, Copper mosfet heatsink, less SATA connections, less functional bios, no onboard wifi. All of these features are on all of their other Premium motherboards. For some reason, instead of naming this board a Deluxe they now have two Premium editions. Makes sense? No.
