I have to refresh that image like 5 times before I can recognize a word that's not an actual word. Now they're using inverted colors. If your goal is to stop humans from proceeding, you're doing a good job.

I don't think they are supposed to be real words. I usually just type whatever letters I think are being shown and usually get it right. Rarely are they words I can recognize.

I believe they let you get some wrong, as long as you're not totally wrong... that's what I read anyway. I haven't been so bold as to test it during a registration page that I took time to fill out.

With recaptcha, it only knows one of the words and wants you to help it learn the other one. Chances are, if you can read one word, it doesn't matter what you type for the second word because recaptcha doesn't know either.

What really bugs me is the other captchas that are totally illegible and non-refreshable. The only way to get a new captcha is to fail, which then clears out part of the form you just filled in. FRUSTRATING.

Captcha sucks, it's just a matter of time until spambots break each new twist and can register anyway. All the uber-unreadable methods do is stop humans. You can usually stop bots with a simple series of Y/N questions that humans can get through in 10 seconds without any hassle.

The Gmail app will popup a captcha if your password changes and needs to be updated. I gave up and did a wipe the last time as it was impossible to guess the word.

Mine hasn't changed in a while. I am not sure why it would need to be updated.
It is a HUGE pita.
