Normally, I tend to ignore deadbeat ebayers, have my commission get refunded and repost the item and be on my merry little way. However, this guy is being more than a pain.

You have any idea where he lives? Maybe some one can pay him a visit.

I don't understand the people who bid/on on these auction and don't pay right away. When I win, I want my stuff yesterday, so I pay right away... What pisses me off is when the sellers don't leave me a positive feedback. I tell them thanks, got the shipment, left ya a positive feedback and I don't hear sh!t from them thereafter. But that's another thread, I suppose...

Why is this guy saying all this through e-mail? You can just forward this evidence to eBay if he tries to deny your accusations.

wait, can someone explain to me in proper english what is going on?

From the incoherent quote of that s1462 guy, all I gathered was that he won bubbasmith's auction, was somehow told he did not win even though he is the high bidder, and now he won't pay anymore and will probably leave (-) feedback?

Is that right?

He won the auction. He doesn't want to pay (or is just slow). After getting bubba's 8 or so less-than-eloquent emails to which he gave no response, he countered with a threat of his own: That he would claim that someone said he didn't win the auction with his bid. He's smoking crack.

Bubba's done some things poorly, particularly for someone that's done 60+ transactions. Communication is key.

well just save that email he sent u and report it to ebay.

why dont u just follow ebay's process for a non paying bidder. after 72 hours, leave remind. and then after a few more days, report him. then leave negative and get ur money back. no threat necessary.

I honestly believe that ebay doesnt care about the everyday trader, i got scammed a couple times and they didnt do jack sh!t. I hate ebay!
You're right. Ebay doesn't give a crap. I had my Ebay account hijacked from someone overseas a month or so ago. All Ebay had to say about it was to change my password every month or so, so someone can't break into my account. My system was secure, so the only way they could've stolen my password was if they were scanning Ebay's site while I was logging in. I even asked Ebay about offering a secure login and got no response. The only good thing that Ebay did was credit me the listing fee that the guy who hijacked my account rang up listing a couple of items.

If I were you, I'd file a NPB alert on the guy to get your money back, leave a negative and move on.

Also.. I'd try to be factual with your negative response and leave emotion out of it. I don't care if someone has a negative on their account when I'm looking to buy from them if the person seems to have a logical explaination for the negative and if they seem rational in leaving a response. The people that I avoid are the people that leave irate replies calling the person a dumb a*s or worse. There is nothing that I want to do least than work with someone that is a potential hot head.

Ebay does offer a secure login. It is a pain because it is not the default option so you must click on it (it's the lower right link of the login page. Regarding your hijacked account, though it's possible that someone scanned Ebay for your password, more likely, you might have responded to a spoof email or click on some link through a scam email. Also, check for trojan horses or keystroke programs on your computer or if you use outside computers.

Are you crazy? Go to the auction and you can see the FULL list of bids that were put in. There is no way whatsoever that you can claim that anybody offered me $275 for the phone. In fact, after you failed to respond, I sent the second highest bidder an offer to buy the phone at his bid (255.01). eBay has records of all this so my story will obviously win out over yours.

You know, if you had just responded to me and asked me if you could have been let out of the deal I probably would have agreed. But now that you've decided to threaten me and screw around with me, I am going to do whatever I can to make sure eBay finds out about you and deals with you harshly.

I am giving you ONE LAST CHANCE. Pay for the auction in full (I will waive shipping) -- $260 -- and I will pretend you never sent me this email.

you are a moron.

he does NOT respond in the time you want (even though he has more then the 4 days you gave him) so yo offer it to the 2nd highest bidder?

personally i hope you get screwed. To me it looks as if you are trying to commit fraud. how does he know that you arent going to sale it to the other guy you offered it to? say the first guy does pay. then you screwed the ohter guy.

idiot.

EDIT: plus looking at your feedback you have several Neutral's for slow shipping and not clearly stating what is sold. such as items that are broken or not as listed. hmm who to believe eh?

WAGGY DID YOU READ THE EMAIL HE SENT ME? HERE LET ME QUOTE IT FOR YOU SINCE YOU SEEM TO BE SOMEWHAT MENTALLY DEFICIENT:

you could post negative feedback. i will do worse. after winning the auction
i emailed and someone replied me that i indeed did not win the auction at
260.01. because someone else had it for higher(275.00$). you know as well as
me that if you conatct ebay and i will reply that you refused to sell me the
phone becuase you felt the amount was too low and probably could of sold it
for more(wich in these circumstances an a530 is worth more). who do you
thinck they will believe it will be obvious that the guy you wanted to sell
it descided not to pay. you should let this go. because we will have to send
this e-mail everytime we want to buy something or sell it.
thanks

THAT GUY NEVER INTENDED TO PAY ME. THIS THREAD IS ABOUT DEADBEAT EBAYERS. NOW GET LOST.

To his credit, it's also indirectly about seller's that don't do the best job. What sort of things do you think you could do better in the future?

Congrats on getting a 2nd-chance bidder who would bite on the offer. Few and far between in my experience.

No.. I never respond to emails sent by Ebay or any other site. What I usually do when they have an offer is delete the email and go to the site myself. I also got myself trojan finder software and didn't find anything on my system. I updated my AV software as well just to be safe. Besides this, I have a firewall. Someone would have to go to great lengths to hijack my account.

I didn't know about the secure login. Thanks for pointing this out.
