This goes for most of their software. They are really a terrible software company, and the people buying their products are just supporting more lousy games. To top it off, they're trying to monopolize the sport-gaming industry (with exclusive licensing), which just guarantees more crappy products with no competition.

I haven't played a good EA title since way back in the days of "Triple Play" on Sega.

Hrmm...
Actually, I got BF2 to run on my eMachines m6809 laptop.
The game runs at 50+ fps on low settings. I was shocked to get BF2 to run on a laptop video card with only 64MB of RAM.

Back to the topic, Dice isn't a full in-house developer for EA. I think they're still in Sweden.

Yeah, I agree about the comment on EA. Their games are just plain bland. I have trouble finishing their games because I find them bland.
I only finished Medal of Honour.

What sucks even more is the prices on their games. A couple of months later, the Need for Speed games have gotten a reduction in price.
However, Medal of Honour games are still expensive, similarly priced as the newer releases.

Most of the PC games I bought are from EA, though. I usually buy bargain-bin games.

My CPU is a A64@2.2Ghz
GPU is 6800GT @ stock
1.5GB of PC3200 Ram
HD 10,000 RPM Raptor 74GB

I am playing at 1600X1200 with dynamic shadows turned off and 2x AA.

Ill be quite honest.

If my rig is having problems running out of ram, EA really made a pig of a game.

Also, why can't I stay connected to the server for more than 20 seconds once my net goes out? It should stay there for 5 minutes while I reset my modem and then when it comes back on, the gameplay should resume like nothing happened, or AT LEAST reconnect when the modem comes back on.

The servers are full enough, I nor anyone else wants to wait 5 minutes for you to get your connection back. I didn't lose it, it's not my problem.

I am running this:

Shuttle AN35 Ultra
AMD Barton 2800+ overclocked to 2.3 ghz
2x256 megs Corsair XMS PC2700 + 512 meg XMS PC3200 (1 gig total)
EVGA GeForce 6800 128 meg AGP
Sound Blaster Audigy 2

Fresh install of XP + latest Nvidia drivers

I played last night for about 3 hours straight and it ran flawlessly. Soo very smooth. I was really surprised at how nicely it ran.

I might also add that you guys who are having problems also might want to check your sound card drivers. I have found sound cards can case just as much problems as video cards sometimes.

I haven't had a problem. The server browser isn't great, but I'm fine otherwise.

Running an Athlon XP2400 overclocked and 9800pro...

Got it working on my housemates 6600GT AGP only after we did a full format and a fresh install of windows/DX9c.

Yet another reason to go PCI-Express!

I'm running it fine with a AGP 6600GT with latest official drivers from Nvidia's website.

Every other popular game seems to do fine using that mechanism. Sounds like it's a cover for EA's inept programming, but OK. So at least put me in a reconnection loop with everyone else when my net comes up? It's not that hard?

Why can't I just reconnect, you ask? Well thanks to their crappy server browser I can only find the server I was just on half of the time. Once I GET TO the server browser. But nope, it stands there waiting for a DNS response for 10 minutes hanigng up the whole system completely (thanks to crappy Comcast cable). Besides when you're in the middle of a battle and having fun you want to get back as soon as possible to the SAME server.

The only good thing about this game is the gameplay (fortunately), once you actually get in to experience it, that is.

The way they handle things leaves a lot to be desired.

Guess this gives a new meaning to 'get a bunch of monkeys together and eventually they'll write the entire works of Shakespeare'. If they were a monopoly and actually had the capability to release decent games that work out-of-the-box, I wouldn't mind. When a monopoly can't write a game correctly there's big problems...

My point is with all the money EA has they could definitely put out something better. Have you seen the article one wife wrote about EA's company practices? It sounded like a modern-day concentration camp.

When I installed that new patch yesterday, I now get booted after every multiplayer game. I tried reinstalling and nothing. This is after I already overcame a plethora of problems and annoyances with the game.

Do they have the six splash screens before you can start the game in the retail version also?

Wow. I have a Dell 9300.
1.6GHz P-M
512mb RAM
256mb 6800go

The demo absolutely sucks for me.

edit: My other comp is a Athlonxp 2700+, 1gig Ram, and 9800np. It runs much better on this.

It crashed on me several times during the first day, but that was due to the instability of my OC system. After I tweaked with the CPU voltage and clock speed a little bit the game doesn't crash anymore. Lagging issue on ranked servers has been non-existance since the first few days. Server browser may suck but I always find a good server to join easily so i don't complain. The game's been solid for me. Only complain is it's too hard to ID friends from foes sometmes... and more variety of weapons wouldn't hurt.

EA probably forced them to release it in its beta state. They own over half of DICE's stock anyways.

They bought most of the Dice stock. They didn't make the game. What is so hard to understand here? EA didn't put the damn bugs in the game. EA didn't make it only run on Windows XP. EA didn't code the server browser. Get it?

But EA could've caused Dice to rush the game.

All publishers push their developers, but they still did not make the game. Dice has had forever to work on this game. EA only very recently purchased the majority of their stock. Dice is also big enough and has enough money to where they don't have to worry about publishers pushing them around very much. Sort of like id and Activision.

Stopping blaming developer bugs on publishers just because it is cool to hate on EA at the moment. Besides, you have absolutely no grounds for your argument that these bugs are the cause of EA pushing them to release early. It's crap you've made up because you don't like EA.
