Also, why can't I stay connected to the server for more than 20 seconds once my net goes out? It should stay there for 5 minutes while I reset my modem and then when it comes back on, the gameplay should resume like nothing happened, or AT LEAST reconnect when the modem comes back on.
The servers are full enough, I nor anyone else wants to wait 5 minutes for you to get your connection back. I didn't lose it, it's not my problem.
Every other popular game seems to do fine using that mechanism. Sounds like it's a cover for EA's inept programming, but OK. So at least put me in a reconnection loop with everyone else when my net comes up? It's not that hard?
Why can't I just reconnect, you ask? Well thanks to their crappy server browser I can only find the server I was just on half of the time. Once I GET TO the server browser. But nope, it stands there waiting for a DNS response for 10 minutes hanigng up the whole system completely (thanks to crappy Comcast cable). Besides when you're in the middle of a battle and having fun you want to get back as soon as possible to the SAME server.
The only good thing about this game is the gameplay (fortunately), once you actually get in to experience it, that is.
The way they handle things leaves a lot to be desired.
Guess this gives a new meaning to 'get a bunch of monkeys together and eventually they'll write the entire works of Shakespeare'. If they were a monopoly and actually had the capability to release decent games that work out-of-the-box, I wouldn't mind. When a monopoly can't write a game correctly there's big problems...
My point is with all the money EA has they could definitely put out something better. Have you seen the article one wife wrote about EA's company practices? It sounded like a modern-day concentration camp.
