Well, why can't you get into golf or WNBA?
As for me, I don't remember there ever really being any sports on TV (or if there were, I was probably doing something else), and we never lived anywhere that had a team. So, I was never indoctrinated into it and thus don't care about it.
Football I really don't get though--it seems like it takes FOREVER for a game. A game is on TV for what, 3 hours or more? To play 4 fifteen minute quarters?

1. They are boring
2. Too much doping going on
3. Sports "stars" are mostly egotistical pricks
4. I dont get wood over the stats of a game

well, since you put it that way, I can completely see why you want to stick with your baking/cooking shows instead. good luck!
I bet he's more of an Oprah, Dr Phil and The View kind of guy

maybe his name should be changed to biggash

Those same guys will often think that a guy who doesn't enjoy sports like they do is kind of weird and separates them from the "social circle" at the office. Maybe I just had some bad luck with that kind of thing, but it really is annoying. Thankfully, that isn't a problem at my current job because there are so many people that work here with different interests.

All the guys where I work are so into sports. I'm like the only guy here that isn't.

I watch a lot of sports, but football (American football) is not one of them. I watch a lot of basketball, soccer, golf ... but football never resonated with me.

You watch what you want to watch.

Me. I love my sports. I play them and I watch them.

I don't really care for the NFL...I'll watch a game if it's on and halfway competitive. I live for NCAA football though.

Sports used to be better / more compelling / less predictable / more entertaining than about 99.9% of tv shows. Now it's more like 98%, but that extra 1.9% is enough to occupy most of my time.

I hate sports, don't know how it makes me less of a man, but they bore the heck out of me.

This is what I watch if I can catch them on when I'm watching tv. If I miss them, it's no big deal.

FOOSball-- Superbowl, but only for the commercials  I hates that foosball!
Tennis-- US open and Wimbledon Last matches only (so 4 games)
Car races-- Indy 500 and Daytona 500 that's it!
Golf-- I'll watch a few of the Majors here and there.
Baseball-- Don't watch
Hockey-- Don't watch
Soccer-- Don't watch

..I was always thrilled to watch PKA karate. I don't see it on any more. It was replaced by choreographed wrestling and all the goofy variants. tv viwers would rather watched faked combat drama rather then the real thing. I suspect rollerberby will be back shortly.

but anyway you are wrong. UFC, and its type are gaining popularity. there are at least 4 shows a week with mmc fighting.

The only game I truly get enjoyment from watching would have to be golf. I think the reason is because I enjoy playing golf.

Now if my friends have a get-together to watch a sport like football, baseball, etc., I'll go to be with my friends. I don't enjoy watching them by myself.

I like watching football but I don't really have a favorite team. I suppose it would be the Packers if I did since everyone around here likes them.

Playing sports is a lot more fun than watching them though, especially football.

When it comes to me and watching sports:

-- I will only watch games that involve a team that I care about (that's 1 or 2 teams per sport)
-- Even then I sometimes would just rather read about it afterwards (I'm a standings/stats freak)
-- Will not watch random teams play, unless it's the playoffs.

People generally watch sports because they have an investment in them:

This investment can either be financial - fantasy football, sports betting, etc. It can also be emotional - favorite team, player, etc.

Some people also just simply appreciate the beauty of the sport.

Others enjoy the social aspect of it - going to an actual game, tailgating, and getting insanely drunk.

So if you want to get into sports, invest something in it - pick a team and root for them, or join a fantasy team and cheer for your players. Or get a group of friends together and BS about random sports stats while drinking a few beers and eating pizza.

That's about all there is to it.

I don't like watching sports at all. I find them boring to the extreme.. well, maybe except soccer. If that makes me weird I couldn't really give a crap.
