LoL you know ATM and email have been mainstream for decades right?

ATM's have gone beyond 'mainstream' and into 'being removed'. It's increasingly difficult to find ATMs round here, as it seems there's a push to do away with cash.

We are seeing that happen here as well, albeit in a much slower pace.

I just transferred funds from one bank to another. Later today I'll pay off Visa.
What do you mean no banking? I haven't been in a bank branch in 15 or 20 years.
Haven't got any mail in a week, hopefully don't get any for another week.
You don't understand, he had some very important banking to do today, it couldn't have been handled yesterday, and tomorrow is too far away! VERY IMPORTANT BANKING!

I set ACH transfers for today thinking they'd process today since the banks I use do same day transfers during business hours.

But they won't.

If it is a bank holiday, the transaction move to next business day. So do due dates so zero impact. This has been true since probably 1913, when the Federal Reserve was established and all bank clearance is through them.

You'd think by now financial stuff could just happen 24/7. Servers never go on vacation. I guess bank IT systems are very far behind the times and require lot of manual interventions such as inserting punch cards to make transactions happen.

It's a business process thing. The Federal Reserve operates on business days and since all clearance happens through them, you have to sync to business days.

Only time I go to a bank is to access my safe deposit box, and that's just about always to swap hard drive. I back up my NAS thataway.

Where did you find volunteers to gangbang a 80 year old? Your retirement home?
Hey buddy, wasn't me, that was when you were 8YO, you stood there befuddled while a bunch of fellas banged your mom. It's right there for all to see, on the internet. Piss off.

Probably because it's a hard drive, it's fine. But a safe deposit box is not actually that safe because bank employees can and do steal. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/19/business/safe-deposit-box-theft.html

However, custody and access of the box are either not recorded, fudged, or you can't ever see them anyway so criminal theft or the tort of conversion will not be able to work simply because the party identified isn't there and/or the evidence to prevail is not kept. The object is not sufficiently inventoried and valued.

In the days after Mr. Poniz found his box empty, he began piecing together what had happened: Wells Fargo had apparently tried to evict another customer for not keeping up with payments, and bank employees had mistakenly removed his box instead. After drilling No. 105 open, the bank shipped its contents to a storage facility in North Carolina. After Mr. Poniz discovered the loss, Wells Fargo sent back everything it had in storage, but some items had vanished.

Are you seeking professional help for your paranoia? Or maybe you could just Google it.

What's the basis for saying I have paranoia?
The fact that no matter what the subject, you always find some way to interject that someone is out to cheat or steal. No matter how unlikely.

When you break down the numbers, that’s about 4,000 bank robberies per year and only about 8 or 9 involve safe deposit boxes. In contrast, there are nearly 1 million home burglaries each year. In other words, a home is about 250 times more likely to get robbed than a bank.

One, before we continue, I suggest stopping the harassment and argue reasonably and in good faith.

Did I fail to provide evidence or fail to describe the precise mechanism of theft?

Do you require clarification of my point?
