I dropped out of Subway when they started jerking around the frequent purchase promotion card.

First I was told the card w/ stampes was no longer valid; they were switching over to a electronic debit type card.

Store stated that I had to go to corporate to get credit for the stamps. corp stated taht it was up to the store owner.

Now 6 months later; the electronic card is not longer considered to be valid.

My business with Subway is lost.

Quiznos while on the road; Port of Subs when I am back home.

I like the subway here at work. They only charge $3.69 for a footlong veggie sub where all the other ones are $5.39+. I can get the veggie patty on it (which isn't bad when they toast the bread)....by the time I use my staff discount (-10%) I can get it for $3.63 total. It's a pretty sweet deal for something that fills me up and isn't as bad as eating processed meats.

They did so because of rampant fraud. They were losing millions because of the fraud connected to the stamps and cards. You could buy rolls of real and counterfeit stamps on ebay.

If you were them you would have done the same thing.

I love Subway. But I will admint, Subway's are hit or miss. The 2 by my work are great and have great, fast service w/very friendly workers. The one near where I live is a different story. I can be the only person in the store and it takes me like 10 minutes to get a sub. Half the employees there don't speak english either. They just don't seem to care as much at this one.

But the 2 by my job definitely get a huge thumbsup from me.

Sorry yours sucks. All the Subways I've been to are really good, both with food and customer service.
Can never figure out why people piss and moan about them and I always have good experiences. I might be lucky or just make the server feel like being nice to me for some reason.

EDIT:
I have noticed there are a lot more cuties at sandwich joints than burger joints.

I could understand the stamp issue.

The refusal of the electronic card meant 3-4 foot longs were not available.
I needed those foot longs while in the sports book.

Nothing wrong with my local subway anymore, it got new management and they made it into a good place to eat. Your local staff determines the quality of most restaurant chains.

Ditto.

And the Subways I'm talking about that have great service in Columbia, MD near my work is the one that's near the Taco Bell and Burger King on Snowden, and also the one in the Kings Contrivence area right off of shaker drive.

I live in Charlotte sooo thats probably why... everything else sucks here (i.e. the Panthers, the Bobcats, etc) so why should subway be any better.

I don't understand why it seems so retardedly difficult have food in stock at a restaurant (if you can call it that...).

The little sh!t at the counter told me that his manager doesn't let them open any vegetables for the night shift and that they can only use the leftovers from the day shift. So, why the hell are they even open if they can't serve their customers!? I nicely asked the kid to gimme a break and just get me some pickles and tomatoes and he replied, "Sorry dude, I don't wanna get in trouble..." I explained to the little sh!t that the meat, cheese, and bread were the most costly parts of the sub and pleaded with him to get me atleast some tomato. He refused. So I asked the fvck what store number he worked at....... He didn't even know the *** damn store number, telephone number, or the address (according to him). ON TOP OF THAT, he was a shift manager.

After I stormed out, I called my roommate and asked him to find me the next nearest subway (I was really craving a sub and we don't have any quiznos on my side of town). I drive to the next closest one only to find out they were closed, perminantly. So, whatever, I drive to the grocery store near my apartment and shop while talking to my roommate on the phone. I was explaining how subway being out of tomato and sh!t was like a grocery store being out of milk and bread with no threat of snow. AND GUESS WHAT? The mother ****ing grocery store was out of everything but skim milk. At this point, I wanted to snap the necks of kittens in front of a group kindergarten students. Subway ruined my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
/end emo rant

ROFL!

Yup, thats the subway I go to, right off of snowden river pkwy, next to the burger king. I've never had any problems with service there.

But besides service, I actually like subways subs more than quiznos subs. I can eat an entire footlong subway sub and not feel weighed down. But if I eat a full length quizno sub, I feel like Im gonna pass out and go to sleep.

I actually nearly saw a fist fight at one subway between a customer and an employee.
While making her sandwich the customer asked for a few move olives. Employee responds they are only supposed to put 4 olives on a sandwich and would have to charge he extra for more. Customer refuses sandwich; employee calls customer a cheap bi***; you get the picture. This was way down in some podunk 1 stoplight town in south AL.
I personally like subway and have had no negative experiences with the ones here in Birmingham, AL. I even had one store short change me one time. After I caught it the next day I went by the store and spoke to the shift leader (not the manager) and he admitted the cash drawer was over yesterday and gave me back the cash. Then gave me a free sandwich for my trouble

Lettuce, tomato, black olives, light mayo, light southwest sauce, and provolone cheese.

Please, rat them out. Owners like this give all stores a bad name.

what is that number for?

Subway Corporate. Choose the CS extension and rat those lazy, cheap bastards out.

I will definately do so. The owner is definately from the middle east or India, his name is framed on the wall. I guess for the sole purpose of making yourself try to pronounce it in your head correctly...

Well, I wasn't going to ask... let's just say... I knew it.
As did I.

That sucks, but Subway really is hit or miss depending on management. Of the two ones closest to me, one is utter crap and the other is quite good.

Olives are the single most expensive veggie on a sandwich. The formula calls for four per six inch, but within reason more can be added and the customer should not be charged extra unless he wants an unreasonable amount.

The employee was wrong. But she was probably just following bad instructions from her manager/owner.
