Correct me if I'm wrong, but besides a high ranking which offers intermediate reward, isn't the ultimate goal of the project to find "the key"? And the DPC edge in keyrate isn't that great that they have much of an advantage with that, T/F?

And I would also support the opinion that it ain't over 'til it's over

You're right Yo_Ma-Ma, but only partially. While the DPC have a better chance, all of Dnet's still in this together. The DPC only do 10% of Dnet's outpu at the most daily, meaning the other 90% get's checked by someone else. By checking this other 90%, it means that the DPC have less work to go though, and a better chance(in theory) of finding the key. Hence, even though there odds are better, is it by no means a 1 team effort.

I read this thread, it brought out some good and some bad in a few of our members, quite frankly I was disapointed in trains reaction.

aswell homerfan I don't think you get the idea behind what we are doing, just becasue the DPC are ahead of us, and is looks "hopeless" it is not, beating the DPC is not the reason I joined DC nor is it the reason this team is together. threads like these have gotten old to members like me.

the reason we are here is to partake in a new venture, one that has yet to reach its full potential, to be the leading edge of a new era in computer useage, to use all of what our computer is capable and more. to prove that there is hope to solve the worlds biggest problems, or crack the worlds hardest codes. to find others like us out there in our large universe, to find the key to the human genes. it is not just about being #1! and if we never see #1 again I will not be disapointed but glad to have the honor to work with such a diverse and absolutly great group of people.

That's the spirit! I'm cracking for DPC, but the more people who join in the overall effort, the better for the project, right? I think the competition between teams is great, but people don't have to get emotional over the fact that some other team has a better ranking.

In my opinion RC5 is rather useless anyway, but there's fun to be had in the competition.
