I have a gap in my teeth...

I have a slight gap in my teeth, and it's been there for years. I have never liked it and now that I'm on my own two feet, making decent money I just wanted to see if there's a way to get it corrected or if I'd need braces.

I am an adult and I don't like the idea of a mouth full of metal, especially since I have a job where I am a 'professional'... I think it would be inappropriate and even moreso, I think it's ugly for me. I have heard of Invisalign but I don't know much about it.

I have the same problem too... last time I checked (in my case) I couldnt do braces or any of the procedures to align my teeth because once the 2 fronts have been pushed together.. then there would be gaps between the opposite side of where the gap was initially at... following me?... so basically they told me they had to put "fake teeth" over my current teeth in order to close the gap between my 2 front teeth.... but then again, this was when I was in highschool... I graduated college now... so this was like... 8-10 years ago.... might want to see what dentists do nowadays.

Post a picture. You might be able to get dental bonding.
I have a gap too, and I hate it. But it would cost me $1500 just to get it closed.

Do you think insurance would cover it? I am going to the dentist in January (his first opening... ), so I just wanted to see if there's anything that can be done in the meanwhile.

It's cosmetic. Does your dental insurance cover cosmetic? Most don't.

Well, I have a certain allowance for braces in my insurance plan... not sure if this would cover the same thing. I'll have to find out.

umm... http://www.invisalign.com ... should be $5k or so... and your insurance should pick up a good deal of it.

I have a gap between my two middle teeth. I don't like it but I don't really see any reason to pay a lot of money to fix it.

I went to high school with a girl who had a big gap between her front teeth. They used a laser or something to cut her mouth in between them, and it was supposed to close the gap a bit. I don't remember what the outcome was, they moved by the end of that school year, I think.

Can't dentists use dental bonding to add material that matches your teeth? Should cost less than $200 per tooth.
