Since no one knows me in real life from these boards I feel free to discuss it. It's kind of nasty so this is your warning.

I have this open wound on the part where my ass meets my back. You know the spot you rub and shake someone's hand if you hate them. Well every time I take a shower or sit in class it gets moist from sweat or what not. It always opens back up and bleeds. I've had it for about...hell I don?t know as long as I can remember. I got it from scratching there too hard when it itched and it just opened up. I've tried New Skin and baby powder to dry it out but nothing works. It always gets disrupted before it can scab up and heal properly. I haven't seen a doctor about it and I'm hesitant to because it's embarrassing. Is there something I can do to get this thing to heal?

Gold bond powder.

The trick is to keep it dry so it can heal.

and yeah, thats nasty.

That's not that nasty. It would be nasty if it were significantly lower in da crack, though.

Gold Bond is a good suggestion. If it doesn't start to heal by itself uninterrupted, then see a doctor. I swear ATOT needs a disclaimer that says it's not a substitute for competent medical attention or something.

Heh... I had some variant of athelet's foot *down* there. It itched, itched and itched like CRAZY!!!!!!!! I finally went to the doctor. Most embarassing 3 visits of my entire life! I had to turn around and he would *examine* (complete with the finger proble). God DAMN! Sometimes I felt like I was in a very very very sleazy porn. I was given an ointment, and the thing disappeared in 3 days. Had something to do with bacteria in the nose!

I have an illegitimate problem. I don't know his name, though. I don't remember his mother that well either.

I don't really think it should be embarassing, if it was really from just scratching
that belt line area can be very itchy if you have dry skin (I have dry skin) so I wouldn't worry, just go see a doc and ask what you should do about it.. bam.. easy as pie.

True gluing it shut. No, seriously, in fact BandAid sells a form of super glue that they market as a wound closer.

BTW,

Your problem reminded me of my boil on my a$$ problem a couple of years ago. Had to have it cut open and drained at a hospital. Worse pain ever!!! The worst part is that the drugs they gave me before the "surgery" didn't kick in until after the surgery. I just thought the pain was normal, then shortly after the surgery I felt different and couldn't walk. It was the drugs kicking in.

Area bandage. They are about 4cm square and stick very well. They are usually able to handle sitting/bending etc. as they are often used on knees/elbows. A local pharmacy should know what they are. You could put a cream or ointment on it to help with the itching.

Just don't glue your butt shut.

I had a cut just below my eye that my mother (a doctor) closed with super glue. It works well and only leave a small scar. The only thing is that it is really is only effective for long, narrow cuts, which don't have a lot of tension on them.
