At close to $100/mo the water here better be good! And it is, I put in a filter and can drink it straight out of the tap, can drink it without the filter it's just you taste the chlorine.

When we went for a trip down south in Wasaga Beach area we realized how we take our water for granted. The water there was terrible. It's orange (high iron content) and stains everything. You can't actually do laundry in that water. I imagine most people have water softeners there but the place we rented didn't.

I don't drink anything out of the tap. In theory, the water here in NJ is safe but there is some shit I don't trust even in parts per billion. So everything I consume is distilled and charcoal filtered. My distiller makes about 3 quarts at a time which is usually good for at least a day, depending on how much tea I drink.

What kind of device do you use to distill the water? I buy distilled water for my UPS battery bank but I sometimes wonder how distilled that water really is. I've already had 2 batteries die on me in less than 5 years. I tested different brands with my multimeter and got different results for resistance using a common spaced probe. If the water is distilled right it should have infinite ohms.

I think we go through atleast 20-25 gallons of drinking water a week when we are in the Dominican Republic, it's a good workout bringing those jugs in to the house once a week.
