I have ????? about RAMBUS.....hurry answer!!!!

do i need a pair of rambus, or will one stick work



(reason i ask is because some mobos require a pair)

Unless you are buying an ASUS P4T533, all RDRAM boards need a pair of 16-bit RIMMs.

Youre going to need matched pairs of RDRAM for that board.

Only a SPECIFIC Asus board (P4T533) can use the 32 bit RDRAM. And you can use single sticks of 32bit RDRAM. Every other type of board to my knowledge including other Asus ones has 16bit slots which need to be used in pairs.

Also keep in mind that if you pick up the P4T533, you'll only have 2 available slots. All typical 16-bit RDRAM boards give you 4 slots, so in reality there isnt that huge an advantage to single stick upgrades in terms of expandability. Also, 2x128MB sticks of PC1066 are probably still cheaper than 1x256MB PC4200.

BTW the fastest 16bit RDRAM board is faster than the Asus, plus you will have a better chance overclocling the 16bit.

If you want 1066 memory I would suggest the P4T533-C by Asus. I have one with 4-256mb sticks of Samsung RAMBUS. THis thing is great. Good features.
