If you're looking for hardware sites with really active forums, there's HardOCP and XtremeSystems. XtremeSystems is more for those interested in the very high end. But neither of them have people as nice as us...you'll come running back, you'll see .

I totally agree. I used a bunch of recommendations from this site and couldn't be happier with my set up. I used stuff I never thought of. Everyone was nice and was quick to respond to my questions.

There are other places but they generally have more wankers, smartasses and such. You also tend to find more fanboyism and people who have a small amount of knowledge talking as if they're bona fide experts. Anandtech has a bit more rational and reasonable of a userbase.
