Am I right, or am I wrong? I think both of my points in this thread ring the truth. Racism is what it is...an entity of its own. Until the majority of us realize it's not an issue, the cycle will continue. On and on and on and on...

Aside: These 1-900 girls on TV have convinced me to go to the bars. Peace out, and peace for all. I'm gonna go pick up a black girl and be happy. I suggest we all go out and 'get to know' a lover of another race. Besides, once we all start having babies together we'll be able to turn humans into one race...then we can start fvcking the Martians out of their superiority

Wow, this just shows how ignorant of the real issues you are and how much of a tool you have become. You spout all this racial info and claim truth. You will note I never took a side in any of this, I am jsut mentinoning things to make you think, however you are becoming defensive; which shows that you are having trouble conceiving of anything other then what you have been spoon fed.

I am not assuming anything, you are well articulated and seem to be intelligent, that is why I am trying to debate you.

Don't just say someone is wrong that means you don't even want to talk about it, you just want to make statements.

I agree African Americans have suffered at the hand of improper government regulation which were rectified 30 years ago. Since that time it has been an uphill climb to gain equality in professional and personal settings, but it is square in their laps as government has rectified the situation.

You are assuming by saying someone has altered my thinking and has affected my opinions. Just because my opinion differs sharply from you and others here, that does not mean that I should bend and slowly back off.

I'm less concerned about the government and more concerned about Americans. We have a long time to go before we can say the problems have been solved.

this is what happens when whitey turns a blind eye to the issues facing the black man. It's easier to sit behind a computer screen and admonish the thug. Heaven forbid you actually go out and influence change.

See, this person has their head on straight. Most cultures have had issues of slavery, not just ours. So it is not just the "whites."

Penn & teller had a show on this issue recently.

He asked about the n word and I responded. He did not mention slavery. I don't see how that is hard to understand.

Get real, we are all influenced in our opinions. First by our parents, then by school and then later on by media. What I am saying is to be aware of it and temper our words with some form of thought before hand.

ive never said anything about ONLY blacks living in the ghetto.

the man was black, and a thug, so i added ghetto.

you dont see business men (black or white) doing this.

You should know by now that you are not allowed to witness/point out/identify a Black person doing something wrong nor are you allowed to be upset by any such activities because it makes you a racist. Blacks get a free pass these days, didn't you get the memo?

Interesting, after all they have been through, they don't really get a free pass. Put yourself in the shoes of a black person in the inner city. Generations of mistreatment at the hands of whites have obviously not benefitted them. Can you at least admit that?

stereotypes exist for a reason.

Huh? Yes, like blacks are thugs and practice this lifestyle like you said above, huh? Great stereotype there.

Looks like you have some more to say, go on.

rednecks, yanks, blacks, jews, n word, s word, mexicans, etc. they all have their own different stereo type.

not all whites are rednecks
not all black are n word.

This doesnt specify that all definitions pertain to ONLY black people. Check the second meaning.

The problems will never be solved. Racism, bigotry, and stereotypes will always exist. But why argue about it? We'll always disagree. It's just not about humans either. Insects, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish, etc do not get along with each other. It's just the way nature is. To me, there's no sense in arguing about a topic which will have no winner. It's futile plain and simple.

After all who has been through? That guy in the video? I doubt he's been through any of the civil rights movement you're talking about. The movement is over...PERIOD. The minute that everyone starts treating every race as equals, and not 'one specific race deserves sympathy over another', the quicker we'll get outta this BS racial sh!t. Civil rights were established over 30 years ago. It's time to start being less sensitive and more objective. PC is starting to get played the fvck out. Seriously. Dahmer was a sick killer...sorry ass cracker. That guy in the video was a crazy fvcking guy...who is black. Oh no!!!! Poor guy!!!

No, you've jumped to conclusions far too quickly there, not that I'm surprised here on ATOT.

He is a POS and worst of humankind. He needs to rot.

What I'm saying is that slavery, the laws after slavery, the unequal treatment has had its consequences. The great leaders of the civil rights movement did not want the black community to be where they are at today. Bill Cosby has a better explanation.

So just because it is ok to call someone a cracker means its ok to open use the n word? The origins of cracker were not the same as of the n word. I think that is why our society has tolerated the usage of that word over time.

The N word had its origins well before it was referred to as a black person, just like cracker had its origin well before it was referred to as a white person. The only difference is that cracker is a much more commonly used term, as is the cracker that we eat. It's easy to get caught up in all that hype.

As for Bill Cosby...I've heard what he has to say and I agree with it. It's just that it's a little bit sobering for a lot of people to objectively judge what he says because it's so damn true.

Overall, you and I are on the same page.

Because I was pointing out your status quo argument that blacks have yet to gain equality. It was a genralized statement spread throughout the media. You are really not trying to concede the simple point that we both may be speading rhetoric that gets nowhere.

Everybody should be judged on his own actions and merits, regardless of race, class and gender.

I am not saying you are wrong, misguided in your approach maybe. So don't get offended, we have only had a hearty disucusssion that is a good exercise in human debate.

Peace man, thanks for the talks.

That is not my argument at all. I have said repeatedly that the black leaders of the past did not envision blacks to be at where they are today. A lot of that blame can be given to the black community. I don't care about the media - don't watch tv news at all. Again, the problems of the past are with us today and we as a country and as people have much more work to do to solve those problems.

Good discussion, Neurorelay and everyone who has participated. Have a good night.

Our society is not ideal.

Of course not, but we should keep this thought in mind when watching and responding to news events such as this one. Young person attacks elderly person, just plain wrong.

Race or not, how could a grown man punch out an old granny like that??

I'm sure he could have scared her enough to make her hand over whatever he wanted he didnt need to beat her to a pulp like that.
