It's been a while guys !

The last time I posted was a month + ago. And so far I added a few things into my routine by eating healthier and began new exercises for the past month or so. I also began pushing myself doing push ups more often. Just a few months ago, I couldn't barely do a proper push up. And now I have set a goal to do 100 push ups a day when I'm not doing any resistance training. Although my push ups may be small for some of you health nuts out there, but hell, it's a big difference for me

I am feeling very happy now and my outlook on life is SOOO much better. Plus being at 182 lbs (180.7 this morning, but that's probably when I lost water weight anyways) as of today compared 223 since mid February of this year is a great journey. Furthermore, my brothers watched me change over the time and they had joined with me as well living a much more healthier life.

And now, I have to eat more to maintain my weight. So far I had added avocados, more fruits, veggies and fat free milk (500 mL every morning ) in my diet since then. What will be the magical number for my situation? for a moderately active individual =o. Currently I'm consuming 2200+~ Kcal of food a day

Now my next big thing for me is to eat more again and it's gonna be the next battle !

P.S. the thread sticky helped me alot

Update : 8/25/2010

I was able to, miraculously to find one of my few pics when I was overweight. And also a recent pic when I was at Frisco with the family as before/after comparison

Before 2009-Feb2010 223lbs

After : As of 8/22/2010 181 lbs

update: 8/19/2011 still at 181 , lost some fat and gain some muscle ;-P . I've started HIIT spinning and continuing with Strong lifts, got some great gains in the past year. It's all worth it :^)

update: 4/15/2012

I've added pull ups/chinups into my routine. went from 25 reps to 45 reps per workout starting this year. I'm happy with the progress. I added a little bit more protein into my diet to gain some muscle mass and then cut later after my school quarter. Right now I stand at 183-185 lbs morning weight.

My personal records so far:

Bench: 145 lbs (solo) Can't go any higher w/o a spotter so...it's a work of progress
Bench machine: 270 lbs
Squat free weight: 295 lbs
Squat/leg press machine: made a milestone couple of days 640 lbs, very happy with that.
Deadlifts: 315 lbs
Peanuts overhead: 55 lbs each arm 10x5
Chinups: 9x5 or 45 in a workout lols !
Push-ups: Max is a 100...hitting for 150 this month !

Congrats on the progress. I did almost the exact same weight drop (223 -> 180) a couple years ago and loved the feeling.

There is no way to for us to guess a magic number for you. There are enormous differences between individuals in terms of daily caloric expenditure depending on genetics, activity levels, food intake, lifestyle, etc. The best you can do is estimate and verify your estimates using a scale. If your bodyweight is changing in the proper direction at the proper rate, your estimates are accurate. If not, you'll need to tweak them.

Good deal. It's not about being a super athlete all the time. Just doing enough to stay healthy and active so you can live a long healthy life is all you really need. Keep it going.

Good job Powermoloch! And to hear that your lifestyle change has encouraged your brothers to step it up is great affirmation. Keep it up!

Alright !

I just came back from San Francisco and visited a whole bunch of places there (Muir Woods, Fisherman's Wharf, Solvang and Hearst Castle). It's one of the most enjoyable vacations I had with my family for a while.

And I added before and after pics !!

Now you just need to get back to 200+ lbs with muscles instead of being every other skinny Asian guy I meet.

When I was at 75kg I felt skinny...thta was 111yrs ago

BUT in all honesty a lot of guys you meet are skinny.

The mental aspect was the most important for me. I feel I'm in control again and gained a better outlook in my life

Those pics suck.
But I am extremely jealous. I wanna lose about 50 pounds over a year, and for the past two it has not happened. I am going to need much more than a healthy diet and cardio. I need a good muscle plan too, so I can burn more calories.

I did one thing right though, I took plenty of good "before" pics so you guys will be plenty impressed. Whenever I fucking do it right.

GOOD JOB OP!

Well done man. That's awesome. The pic in the mirror is a little creepy, but thanks for the reference.
