memory should be fine. Don't know much about OCZ power supplies, but if you researched it, then it shouldn't be a problem. I think you might have some suggestions that you get a different heatsink, but again, I don't know much about the freezer 7 pro.

my other choice for PSU was CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
they were the same price after rebates+coupons
The other had more Watts, but yeah the corsair is a better company/better reviews

WD "Green" for speed =
WD "Black" for speed =
WD VelociRaptor for speed =:thumbsup:

Go with the Corsair PSU. Quality over quantity, both are more power than you need.

I would also pick the Corsair 650W and definitely get a better drive than the WD GP. You can also get a 64GB SSD boot drive and keep the GP for storage.

yeah, i looked at some reviews for the WD and apparently cause its "green", its noticeably slower than 7200rpm drives

Green, Black and Blue are just WD's designations for their different desktop HDs.
They each have their own specifications and application.

I'm skeptical about the CPU choice as well. Are you planning to overclock?

Corsair 650TX >> OCZ 700W
Xigmatek S1283 >>> AC Freezer 7 Pro

Core-for-core the e8500 beats the PhII 720. It also overclocks better. Unfortunately, it's only got two cores vs three on the 720, in multithreaded games (GTA4, SupCom, FC2 to name a few - list is growing) the e8500 just isn't going to remain a contender for as long.

I'd look at either the X3 720, X4 920 or perhaps a Q8300.

There are some really nice combo cpu/mobo deals with the PhII chips these days, wander around the combo section at newegg.

The reason I was getting the 8500 was because i wanted a fast dual core and dell.com is having a 30% off sale, so i can get it cheaper than newegg's price for the 3.0Ghz version

everything you have listed will work. the suggestions in the thread are good, but you won't go wrong if you make your own choices either, it appears.

the e8500 will hold the gtx 285 back in games.

I ran benchmarks with the vcard and my X3 720 starting from the stock 2.8 all the way to a 3.6 OC with 3dmark06 and my video scores increased to about as high as a single card can get or is as listed there. On a e8500 OC'd to 4 MHz the GTX 285 video scores were lower than the X3 720 at 3.0.
Im only telling you so you dont hold your video card back with that cpu.
