Tell your professor to shove that topic up his/her ass.
Write about how awesome it is to be white. I don't get followed in stores, I can cross the street without scaring people, I can drive, play sports, I don't smell weird, everyone wants my money, etc. Or write about how easy it is to screw around with guys as a good looking white girl.
But I'm white. Wat do? D:
btw I'm a girl
For that matter, why do you have a name and avatar that would suggest you are one gender if you were in fact another? Why do something so contradicting and ridiculous?
Are you trying to troll us?
This. Complain to the department head that the topic is politically motivated.

Being white is awesome.
Being a white man is even better.
Being a wealthy white man in the USA right now is about the best condition in the history of humanity. I'm hella psyched about it.
Come hang out with me then write about how happy and privileged I am.

Best part is we just tell all the poor white people it's minorities fault that they are poor so they don't blame us.
I need to pass this class to graduate D:
Our assignment is to regurgitate the the argument that "White Like Me: Reflections on Race From a Privelaged Son" makes. The prompt specifically says, "Do not stray off point to critique his argument in the paper"
whatever side of this non-issue one claims to be on, I find this prompt to be completely egregious..
OP, you could write about how the very worst thing you've ever encountered about being a white male in America just happened -- you were challenged by a professor to at least consider all the privileges and advantages you have always taken for granted -- and how this so ruined your day that you whined about it on an online forum.
The prof is just trying to make you step out of your box and think; to see things from another perspective you may never have even considered.
I know how distressing this must be for you. Here's a kleenex to wipe away your tears. Don't worry, it's white.
The good news is that upon your swift completion of this non-threatening intellectual exercise that is so out of your normal comfort zone, you can go right back to rigidly believing that, in the aggregate, blacks and latinos and women have it much better than you do, despite all the robust statistical evidence to the contrary.
And for the record, the prof should also make self-identified liberals take the position of a white social conservative and do their best to argue their position for all its worth.
There is no harm in actively challenging your own beliefs.

And get an F. Just give the professor what he wants. Easy A. Anybody who demands these kinds of papers isnt looking for challenging ideas.
