Wow, inaccurate spelling and inaccurate assessment.

I put the first shot from my latest Glock in the target's dead center at 25 yds. A gun's accuracy is highly dependent on the person doing the aiming.

With a name like c-dub need deal, would you really?

I don't like Glocks. Some people do, but I'm not in that camp

There's probably lots of things you don't understand.

That's a load of horsesh!t. Every Glock I've fired has been very accurate and almost never have a failure to feed. Glocks are excellent guns.

Do you have any specific questions or problem with guns or gun owners that you'd like to ask or are you just thread crapping?

The only polymer pistol to agree with my hands was the Walther P99.

Take care and be safe.

The 92 is far to large and heavy for the caliber it is chambered in.

I only bought it because I got a REALLY good package deal on a 92 and 96 from a friend. I own over 70 guns and it is the only gun I have ever sold.

I only have two complaints with Glocks.

The first is that the grip is at a funny angle. There is a standard grip angle used by almost every other pistol out there (except for Glocks and some .22s). It is something like 16 or 17 degrees.

The other is the almost complete lack of a safety. If the trigger is pulled, it goes boom. The problem is that sometimes they go off while being holstered. I know that it is the USER'S FAULT if it goes off like that, but the problem remains that if you carry a pistol every day (like a policeman) you will eventually make a mistake. Nobody is perfect. Anybody remember that video of the DEA agent in an Orlando school? The guy was probably not an idiot (well maybe an idiot for not unloading it in a shcool, but that is a separate argument). His Glock went off while putting it back in the holster. This, sadly, is not an isolated incident. My XD has a grip safety -- a definite improvement.

But anywhoo. To the OP: Since this is you first purchase, you will quickly grow used to the grip angle. Just be extra careful with it while it is loaded. Have fun!

I bought a used 2nd Gen Glock 17 last month for $300 at a pawnshop, it came with a 17 round magazine. It works fine.

I then bought 2 33 round magazines, and an extra 17 round magazine all from that midwayusa site.

Its cool to have 100 rounds of ammunition in 4 pistol magazines.

That being said for concealed carry I prefer my 1911.

I agree. And keep in mind I don't like Glocks, and would never own one. But they're as accurate as the person shooting them, and they're far more reliable than most guns. That being said, I've seen Glock's jam too often. The only stoppage I've ever had with a Sig handgun (and I've shot at least 10,000 rounds of 9mm through various Sigs) has been due to dud rounds. I feel much more comfortable betting my life on a Sig.

To compare a Glock to a S&W is ludicrous. The Glock is a much better made, higher quality gun. S&W is junk these days as far as I'm concerned.

I also found it hilarious that someone named Janet Reno is hating on guns.

Glock's have one too many safeties if you ask me. I HATE the trigger safety. It's the worst trigger I've ever used in my life. It's probably my number one problem with glocks. I also hate that they're striker-fired. The Springfield XD is just a Glock imitation, and not as good as the real thing, IMO.

Sigs are the weapons of choice for people the world over who are serious about their weapons. That includes numerous special forces, the United States Secret Service, the FBI, the Texas Rangers, Texas State Troopers, etc. Sigs have NO safety other than a firing pin block. They don't shoot unless you pull the trigger. If you pull the trigger when holster or unholstering the weapon, that's your problem, because you broke a cardinal rule of gun handling: Never touch the trigger until you're ready to shoot.

I understand people's right to own guns but the attitude of drooling over a particular gun/style scares me. It seems as if the gun is more of a toy at that point (like drooling over a new car). My father is a policeman and I have gone to the range with him to fire off many different types of guns, but EVERY time I go there are at least a few jackasses giggling and pointing guns like its a freaking toy. These are tools of death, not toys. I understand the mentality of defending yourself and I would rather have a gun than not if I was being chased down some dark alley, but I do not ever see myself "drooling" over a gun or owning many different models.

no, I do not own a gun now
