They don't shoot unless you pull the trigger. If you pull the trigger when holster or unholstering the weapon, that's your problem, because you broke a cardinal rule of gun handling: Never touch the trigger until you're ready to shoot.

Actually you are wrong on nearly every account. Most federal agencies, (FBI, DEA, ATF) and many state agencies issue the 0.40 Glock compact.
They did use a Sig at one point, but no longer.

Glocks are nice but are very innacurate. I prefer a S & W 40cal. Drool.

That's a load of horsesh!t. Every Glock I've fired has been very accurate and almost never have a failure to feed. Glocks are excellent guns.

I agree. And keep in mind I don't like Glocks, and would never own one. But they're as accurate as the person shooting them, and they're far more reliable than most guns. That being said, I've seen Glock's jam too often. The only stoppage I've ever had with a Sig handgun (and I've shot at least 10,000 rounds of 9mm through various Sigs) has been due to dud rounds. I feel much more comfortable betting my life on a Sig.

To compare a Glock to a S&W is ludicrous. The Glock is a much better made, higher quality gun. S&W is junk these days as far as I'm concerned.

I also found it hilarious that someone named Janet Reno is hating on guns.

My father is a policeman and I have gone to the range with him to fire off many different types of guns, but EVERY time I go there are at least a few jackasses giggling and pointing guns like its a freaking toy. These are tools of death, not toys. I understand the mentality of defending yourself and I would rather have a gun than not if I was being chased down some dark alley, but I do not ever see myself "drooling" over a gun or owning many different models.

no, I do not own a gun now
Flame away

I don't own a single gun.. But, I do drool over handguns and other pretty guns (like the picture of the vulcan cannon whether or not it's even real).. Ya, they're machines of death.. but a quality machine of death is safer than one that is prone to mechanical issues.

I like anything of quality.. whether it be a $50 Inova X0 flashlight, a Gerber Legend multitool, a Herman Miller Aeron chair.. or even a pistol.

A Glock is a good choice for a first gun, but they are not as infallible as the die-hard Glock Talkers wish. I've owned many guns including a G27 which I carried for quite sometime and recently sold. Having experienced the Glock, I would never use a Glock as my daily carry gun again. Why? It's simple, the Glock doesn't allow for repeat-strike capability. I currently own a G34 in .22 cal because it's accurate and cheap to shoot. I'm not going to bash Glocks, they serve a purpose and are relatively cheap, reliable and the Company has excellent service. There are better choices out there, it just depends on your needs and alot of times your budget. Generally, Glocks can be more difficult to shoot than other guns because of grip size/angle and a trigger pull that's designed for the World's Strongest Man. Its "shootability" is irrelevant because it's designed for the LEO market and how many people know cops that shoot on a "regular" basis. Most cops I know shoot twice a year; a week before quals and qualification day.

Do your self a favor and practice, practice and then practice some more. When you get comfortable with the gun, learn the trigger "reset" shooting technique and the gun will be far more accurate then you. Next, give it the "25 cent trigger job" and replace the connector. Shoot safely and shoot often, Good Luck with your new toy.
