Do you deny that the very illegality of drugs creates these circumstances? When was the last time buying alcohol contributed to crime organizations?

Drug users don't create desperate, profitable, and highly dangerous underground black markets. Nope, the war on drugs does.

I disagree. Users do not drive markets underground and make them as profitable and dangerous as the alcohol business was in the 20s, and the drug business is today. It takes a medling government to do that.

i believe we are talking about different things... i am only talking about the validity of the statement the guy made. whether or not these ads are doing any good is another issue. i wish we could just legalize drugs so people can get all drugged up, thereby lowering the curve

I've been paying Federal Taxes since 1970 so I've helped finance killing Judges and cops, and I helped blow up buidlings. I've also financed killing women and children and the raping of Nuns in El Salvador, Overthrowing Democratically elected Governments, Assasinating Foriegn Nationals, polluting the friggin world, experiments on American Citizens without their knowledge plus a bunch of other nasty stuff that we don't know about.

What you say may be true about the crackdown on drugs creating the bad people. But how can you deny the truth of the ads? How are they lying?

It doesn't matter if it the government's fault, or Andy Rooney's fault. If your money is making its way back to cop-killers, how can you argue?

I think about it this way. How much stuff can you trace back to terrorism. Lots. I hate to say it but you know who contributes the most? THE OIL INDUSTRY. Think about it. Saddam, Iran and Saudi Arabia have been harboring and giving money to terrorists for a long time. Just about everyone has to use gas. I think that is the problem.

My whole point was based on the pure absurdity of the thought process of those commercials.
