I honestly don't care for Apple Products

So my I got my wife a LG volt Android based phone. My daughter has an Ipod (5th). This is not the first time I've bought Apple, but this will likely be my last time.

1. Extortionately expensive, and no justification for the price. Apple claims their products are higher quality. I don't see the big deal.

2. The Nerd factor with Apple products are quite low. The interface seems very "Fisher-Price" like. My wife's Android is awesome. I was able to flash the firmware, put on some funky version of Android OS and get the phone rooted. The android OS is very flexible, you can enable developer options and play with all kind of settings.

3. No SD card slot on devices. My suspicion is they use physical size as a selling point. So it's not like you get get the most basic ipod/iphone and just put in a 64gb micro sd card. You can with Android devices.

4. My understanding is Apple has to approve apps for Iphone/Ipod, whereas Android has unrestricted.

I do not buy Apple products simply for their price.

I got a free Ipad from one of my business distributors. I thought it would be a great device to do mobile billing, paired with my HP bluetooth printer for paper invoices. Wait apple doesnt allow printing over Bluetooth? There goes that plan. Also, this thing has the worst connectivity of any device I've ever used. It doesn't matter what network I'm connected to, 3 or 4 times a day it decides it cant connect to anything, and the only way to fix it is to power it down and restart it.
First and last apple device in this household.

5. No support for Near Field Communication

6. No support for miracast. With the Android I can connect it to my Roku3.

You care enough to make a thread about it.

I guess that's all I have to say about that. No point arguing with idiots.

I'm actually pissed about how much more I paid for a Ipod (with no phone func) v.s. a LG volt. How the Android device seems vastly superior in hardware, screen size, OS v.s. the Apple. Waste of money.

The lack of memory expansion or battery replacement alone is enough for me not to buy Apple. They are nice products but vastly overrated. I hate the direction they took with the Macbook series too, all soldered now, no more upgrades. Basically an FU to any power user.

You must be a devoted Apple user.

Are you trying to stepinthrax yourself again?

I notice this time you've dispensed with the awful contrived rant, so maybe you're starting to catch on? This new one is definitely more coherent and less TLDR, but the complete lack of original thought is still clearly present.

Yep,

Forgot about the battery issue, no way to remove battery without tearing down the phone.

As much as I hate apple, it's not like they are the only ones doing the non-replaceable battery.

No you retard, your thread just sucks. This is a stupid topic that is literally older than the internet, and you have added absolutely nothing of value to it. Everyone on this site is at least passingly familiar with Apple and what their devices are like, so you can't even claim it's a PSA.

2004 called, they want their thread back

More like 1998. You could make the same arguments for iMac versus PC.

Apple has always had a single advantage, no matter the hardware: it's a closed system. It 'just works' because they control all aspects. Windows and Android both face the issues of inconsistency and glitchiness because of their variety.

Android is like a baggy off-the-rack suit. Whereas Apple's are perfectly fitted, tailored to your size...but restrictive, uncomfortable, and you kind of look like a twat.

Apple requires you to have a icloud account to use the ipod. In addition I had to setup a icloud account (something I would never use) so that my daughter can use the ipod. I was supposed to be the approver if she tires to download a app. She would go and try to do a download, then I would never get a notificaiton. It seems I would also have to have a ipod/iphone to get the notification (not sure). Anyway I just removed the restriction and it works. Not sure about why it couldn't, but it didn't seem to "just work".

not to mention their indistrial design is very poorly thought out. for years they have phones with glass backs, then they replaced that with scratchable, bendable aluminum

Never used a Google Nexus 4 or 5, I guess. Oh, there's a thing called a battery pack that can be connected to charge your phone. Use one all the time for my N5.

Oh, repost for the 100th time.
