I just burned the hell out of myself...any easy way to relieve the pain?

I accidentally melted plastic onto my thumb right below where the nail is (don't even ask), and it hurts like hell. Can anyone give me quick tips on ways to relieve the pain? I forgot how much burns suck

get ice on a bag and sit the burnt area on top of it (the ice) for a while.

Try aloe. Keep some handy near the kitchen and in the garage. If you use aloe right after you get burned, it can even keep it from blistering.

very good advice. aloe helps with the pain and helps it heal much faster.

There's a product called NUSKIN that really helps with burns. Unless the skin is broken. If you can't find it and the local supermarket/drugstore then near freezing water or kinda cold water does the trick also. I highly recommend NUSKIN.

aloe does wonders
i work at a drycleaning plant, lots of steam for the presses and such, so burns happen a time or two a week, keep alot of aloe vera on hand there (that and the aloe plant the boss keeps up front)

oh, i think i read somewhere morphine does the trick too but im not sure...

Do not put butter or any other greasy stuff on it unless you want to get an infection.
