I just drank a Red Bull at 7pm. I have a problem

As the title states I'm somewhat addicted to Red Bulls. Four out seven days of the week I'll chug one after breakfast on my way to work. If I don't do this my day is pretty miserable. I know this is partially due to a dependency.

I want to kick the habit but find some kind of other way to get a nice energy boost in the morning without drinking a sugary carbonated energy drink. Keep in mind I am not and most likely will never be a coffee drinker. Any suggestions?

You may not be a coffee drinker, but you may already be addicted to caffeine.

You are also addicted to sugar (which is basically what red bull is).

Stop drinking this crap and bare thru a week of head aches etc.

I still can't believe people buy this energy drink crap....unreal. I never had 1 energy drink in my life...won't even try it.

I've actually gone cold turkey for a month before and didn't notice any awful side effects. I probably would have kept up with it but it's really difficult when I'm literally handling hundreds of cases of energy drinks every night at work.

Really I'm just looking for a substitute for a while to help with quitting for good.

Keep an empty can of Red Bull..
whenever you feel like chugging one, fill it with water...
drink..
....
profit?

I used to drink a lot of cola but not so much anymore. Caffeine is addictive though I've never been dependent on it like some people are. It will keep me awake but it doesn't perk me up.

Red Bull is as bad for you at booze IMO. Just has the opposite effect. You can get quite sick or end up hospitalized if you down too many. Like booze, it's best enjoyed in moderation. If you're looking to lower caffeine intake, tea is a great alternative. Black and green tea have a quarter the caffeine of coffee IIRC. Or you could opt for Yerba Mate, a South American herbal tea. It has about a third the caffeine of coffee. Or Rooibos, another herbal tea (aka Red Tea) which is caffeine free.

As much as I'd like to I really don't think I have the willpower to completely cut out caffeine just yet. Maybe some day down the road but not quite yet.

You just have to cut it down one cup a week until you're free. I went cold turkey one time for a week, sucked but I was off it for a good 2 months before i got back on the wagon I don't sleep well enough to be fine without caffeine

That's pretty much been my problem with quitting. All is well until that one night where I get less than 5 hours of sleep. Plus the fact that I work in a major soft drink distribution center. It's just too tempting.

Nice suggestion! Know of any particular brand that's actually healthy and an actual energy booster?

All real tea is healthy. You'll want heftier teas for the caffeine. English Breakfast, Earl Grey or, Caravans should get you started.

Pretty sure the Sugar Free still has the Taurine and other crap I can't even pronounce that I shouldn't be putting in to my body on a daily basis.

1 sugar free red bull a day isn't going to kill you. You have to enjoy life while you're here. I'd probably say otherwise if you came in here saying you were drinking 4 cans of it a day, but 1? Just enjoy and stop thinking so much about it.

To op. Like everyone else. Try tea. I find it soothing and relaxing.

This one:

It's naturally sweet because of the citrus flavors, so you don't need to add much sugar if any at all. It's made with black tea so it has some caffiene but not as much as coffee.

Barring that go for Lady Grey which is also Earl Grey with citrus (in addition to Bergamot)

Work out in the morning and force your body to release energy boosting chemical.

Try a big protein/low carb breakfast.

This will raise your catecholamine(energy and attention neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine) over your serotonin levels(rest and relaxation).

Make sure you still get your vitamin B
