Facts:

Flu shots do not weaken your immune system. They make it stronger.

Flu shots do not give you the flu.

Flu shots are one of the least painful shots you can get, provided you relax while they are administered.

Flu shots protect against one to three strains of influenza. If another strain of influenza pops up and makes the rounds, you have no protection against it. However, you will NOT suffer from the strain(s) that was in the shot. Flu shots are prepared far in advance, and so some guess work is involved determining what strain(s) will be the most prevalent. Some seasons they guess wrong. This doesn't make the flu shot a bad thing.

Flu shots wont protect you against colds, either. Many people mistake winter colds for the flu and blame the shot.

Wow, I went to the nurse's office, got my flu shot, and thought, "that was the easiest shot I can recall getting" - I barely even felt the prick from the needle.
Last week, I had half a dozen needles jammed into me, and I assure you, they all felt like the size of a pencil going in.

But, in the 10 minutes since I got my shot, I can already feel the area in my arm starting to react to the shot. My immune system is on the attack But, it's led to a weird feeling in the arm.
