I just got a MISDEMEANOR for urinating in public?

Just go to Court, tell the prosecutor that you are not a mope, and ask for a diversion agreement or withheld judgment. They'd probably have you pay costs, a fee, and maybe some community service. Oh, then stop peeing outside.

well look at it this way

wetting some soil is the lesser of two evils, because driving a car whilst busting for the toilet is actually quite dangerous. i'd say its getting up there with talking on a mobile phone...your more bothered about not soiling yourself rather than driving.

I almost got busted for pissing in an alley outside of a bar once back in college. The cop shone his flashlight down and motioned for me to come toward him. In my drunken wisdom, I finished pissing, then booked it out the other side of the alley. Luckily the cop was too lazy to chase me.

My roomate got caught pissing behind a dumpster. All he got was a public urination citation, which was just a ticket for like $200.

I have to show up on court next month, and I really don't want this on my record. I've never even gotten a traffic ticket, the worst violation I've been in is a street sweeping ticket.

Just make sure you pee before they zap you, otherwise if your body urinates during the electrocution process, they'll zap your body twice.

Don't admit that you were urinating. Ask for the court to prove that you were and see if the cop is willing to lie and say he saw you urinating. If he's willing to lie you'll end up paying a fine since it's going to be your word against his word. If he's honest and doesn't lie then the court has no proof you urinated, case dismissed. And by proof ask them to provide soil samples of the wet area to prove it was your urine.

ahh you a$$ you totally stole that page out of MY life when I was in college. except that that it wasn't an alley, it was bbetween two cars on a tree. and i also ran away and the lady cop didn't chase me. AND my buddy got a $40 public urination ticket to top it off. and I'm sure I posted this on here when it happened. I think you stole my story

That happened to me once, but it wasn't for urination, it was for erecting an illegal structure.

Btw - get a lawyer and chances are, it can be reduced to something less than a misdemeanor. I've seen worse things get reduced, this should be a piece of cake for *any* lawyer.

My best friend went to jail in SC for urinating in public (Myrtle Beach, on the beach in the middle of the night with no lights and no one around--didn't see the cop nearby who turned the flashlight on him!) We had to go bail him out otherwise he'd have spent at least one night in the tank, then he had to pay a fine. I'm not sure if they treated it like a misdemeanor, but I doubt you'll get jail time.

If you got the money and are concerned about a possible record, hire a lawyer. He will be in a much better position then anybody in here is at offering you legal advise.

Seriously your police force needs to find something usefull to do.

Never admit to anything to a cop, ever. It is never in you best interest.
