I just got accepted to UC Irvine graduate school

They gave me a nice fellowship too, tuition is free and I get about $25,000 for living expenses if I TA for a few courses.

I was certain I wouldn't get in anywhere, but UCI just sent out their first round picks and I made their top list. This is great, I'm going to grad school!

I'm already there for undergrad. Being a physics TA = hosting a discussion, grading weekly quizzes, and grading finals.

Congrats. But you do know that nearly all grad students (probably 98% and 2% reject it) get that "fellowship," right? Its definitely a larger stipend than i got years ago at berkeley. If you HAVE to be in so cal, Irvine is not too bad. Where else did you apply? What area of physics?

Congratulations!

I went to UVA for my BS in physics. Was accepted to the Ph.D. program, but my health became critically worse (muscular dystrophy) and had to drop out and take it easy-or die. Oh well, at least there are people out there still interested in physics. Do well for us, okay? :beer:
