so everything was going peachy today, and my week just got ruined!
about a month ago i old my manager i was going on a trip to israel and i was leaving a day before may and comming back on the 20th.
i recieved a txt message from my manager today at about 1.45pm asking me how we're doing today (i work for a cell kiosk inside sams).
i replied, what do you mean?! my vacation started today!

and from there it just got ugllyy.. we were supposed to open @ 10am
my manager said i told him the 1st of may (tomarrow)
he said i pulled a no call, now show
i told him..no there was a mis-communication!
i told him aright, well ill come in to finish of my shify.
i get there at 2.30 and he was there..he told me he'd give me another chance because n the 6 months iv worked there iv never had this kind of problem, but the new DM is a bitch (literally, thats what he told me) and she has a no tollerence policy on no show, no call..so he has no way to do anything but let go of me. he said to give him a call when i get back and he mite be able to get me back...

regardless, i think its BS iv worked there for 6 months, perfect track record and iv been selling alot lately...and then this happens
all my friends agree its messed up, and im pretty sure tehres gotta be some sorta way to do a formal appeal or whatever...anyway its been a shiety morning

what are peoples thoughts on this?

think i could go above DM? or does that not even make sense..

I think it's about time for you to get a better job anyway. Consider this a good opportunity?

BS jobs are everywhere, just go work somewhere else.

20 years from now you won't even remember having worked there (hopefully).

just find another job...who knows, they may call you back in a few days or weeks after they go through a few deadbeats...

Since everybody's been criticizing you already, you should also try using capital letters.

boss is a nice guy, he's my age (20) and i have a lot of freedom...

there was never any paper request, nor did he ask me for one!

there really should be a sticky at the top of this forum to an explanation of "at will" employment.

Always in writing! You need to ask for it and have his signature. Can't stress it enough, CYA.

always do vacation requests in writing/email so there is no misunderstanding
a verbal vacation request is an invitation to disaster

lesson to be learned from this, always send your vacation request in an email or some or written request that can be referenced.
