what's this so called speed upgrade and how do I check and do it?
do you have Time Warner high speed? if you do, you are likely to have the speed upgrade
first, turn off your computer and unplug your cable modem, wait about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn on your computer. go to broadbandreports.com and test your speed
Have they done it in all markets or do they send an email when they do it?
no, they have not done it in all markets yet. although a great deal of the time warner high speed folk have gotten the upgrade. well you just have to turn off your modem and test the speed yourself
i have yet to check my ISP email account since i rarely even use it ha

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I didn't know about this and just cycled and tested and I'm now getting average of 4.9 megabits down. I had been getting around 3. Upload stayed the same for me pretty much (just a little bit higher) but I don't really care about that.
Wooohoooo!
Oh, and I'm in Houston.
2.1 megabits per second
Communications 2.1 megabits per second
Storage 250.7 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 4.1 seconds
Subjective rating Great
